On behalf of @glenforestss, Glenforest STEM would like to give a huge thank you to @ErikKLloyd for speaking at Discovery Day! Students left more educated and inspired thanks to your insight in STEM. And of course thank you @tomkenroadms and @AllanAMartinPS for coming out!
Discovery Day is underway! Students conducted their own microtitrations and created milk rainbows by breaking down milk proteins. They also got the chance to see Glenforest’s Robotics team in action! @peelschools@AllanAMartinPS@tomkenroadms#DiscoveryDay

Students from @tomkenroadms and @AllanAMartinPS will participate in hands-on stem-related workshops and have the opportunity to speak with an expert about their time as a professional in STEM!
Hello everyone! Unfortunately, we will be delaying Discovery Day due to the CUPE Labour action on Nov 4. We hope the union and provincial government will reach an agreement, and we will update you when we have rescheduled our event. We appreciate your support and understanding.
There will also be a speaker panel and Q&A for students to get inspired about STEM! Look forward to more updates soon! @GlenforestSS@PeelSchools#STEM
Glenforest STEM returns! We are excited to announce Discovery Day! On Nov 4, 100+ students from Tomken Road Middle School @tomkenroadms and Allan A. Martin Public School @AllanAMartinPS will participate in hands-on STEM-related workshops to foster student interest in STEM fields!
It was an honour to talk about STEM but also wellness, E.D.I., and more for so many Peel students. Glenforest gave myself (and many of my close friends), a great foundation for lifelong learning.✨
I am sure lots of former gryphons out there feel the same.
@gfss_STEM does it again! Thanks to all for inspiring presentations from all speakers and an extraordinary team of students @dianawangmartin @zammitmary
On behalf of @glenforestss, Glenforest STEM would like to thank @ikunwosu@yonaM_debi and Marcus Thomas for speaking at our event! This was a truly unique opportunity for students and many walked away inspired. We had over 2300 participants!! Thank you everyone!!
"You need your own support system. Find people that will support you no matter what career path you take. As long as you believe in what you've done and your capacity to make change, then your opportunities are endless."
-Yonael Debebe
"Racism exists in medicine. There is a lack of education on how different conditions look on black skin. In the curriculum, it was found that prep pictures of skin conditions were only on white people and not darker-skinned people, which look completely different."
-Iku Nwosu
"Doubt will be prevalent throughout your life. It is a powerful barrier that can stop you from trying, but by doing things in spite of doubt, you can create a better life for yourself"
"Soft skills have to do with how a person is, not what a person knows."
- Marcus Thomas
