"Look at how proud we are at censoring the game guys!"
-"Christmas", "date", and "master" are censored
-Many romantic scenes are toned down
-Helios' dialogues are butchered
-"We think carefully" and leave a bunch of errors unfixed
"Localization" I'd say more so "vandalization"
You might wanna sit down, this is a long one... Wemiko sensei have a lot to say
"If you dislike harem, you're not an anime fan" is such a bad take cause saying someone isn't an anime fan because they dislike one trope is like as saying someone isn't a gamer because they don't like horror games.
Starting anime during COVID doesn't make someone a tourist and I dont think its right to put a label or condition to be an "anime fan"!
The year you started has nothing to do with much of a "fan" you are. Every anime fan started somewhere!
You know what a real tourist is?
Telling people u watch an anime and is a fan when all u did was see screenshots on twitter, basically watching an anime through screenshots or mini clips on tiktok, thats larping, and a tourist. Chiming in on "anime drama" or juding on a show saying its BAD or GOOD , eventhough you personally haven't even watch an anime. Calling an anime trash just because someone posted a 40 second clip that is not very relevant to the anime's main plot and dissing it as "trash show". NOW THATS LARPING TOURIST!
I personally dont mind harems, I think they became so popular because they're great wish-fulfillment/ self-insert show and they let different character archetypes shine like tsundere, kuudere, childhood friend, clumsy girl, there's a type for everyone, which then popularise waifu wars or "best girl"
It's fun! Like Rumiko Takahashi's urusei yatsura and ranma 1/2 back in the day really influenced a lot of harems we see now! Harem is just a troupe, like many troupe in anime, like harem, reverse harem, come in different form: slice of life harem, battle fantasy harem, shounen harem, comedy harem
Althought I have to say, I feel like the person who wrote this is in defense with how a lot of people who dislike someone for liking a certain genre. Maybe I could be wrong.. I feel like this person is very passionate with harems and nothing wrong with that!
I've been watching anime for a very long time and probably an unhealthy amount so this I can say, anime is incredibly diverse! That's what makes it special! There's shounen, shoujo, seinen, josei, slice of life, horror, sports, mecha, romance, psychological, fantasy, iyashikei, comedy, and many more! Nobody needs to enjoy every single one of them! Anime is for all! MOST IMPORTANTLY
It's perfectly OKAY to say "hey thats not my thing but I'm sure its someone else's favourite" instead of saying "u have trash taste" or insulting people who enjoy it" Like how I see people commenting on slice-of-life or isekai show by saying it's boring, no pacing, why people like this slops, all isekai are boring,
When isekai is just a troupe, there's bad isekai out there, there's good isekai out there or how slice of life is meant to be really slow and chill, someone you want to watch after a hectic day.
Just because you dont like something, doesnt mean it's bad, its just not your taste, and its OK to not like it, but its NOT OK to talk badly about people who like it.
Things like these really make it hard for new people to want to try watching anime, and it saddens me because I love anime, and I wish to share my love of anime for everyone.
At the end of the day, if you watch anime, enjoy anime, and support anime, you're an anime fan.
das all, thank u for coming to my ted talk
Three years ago, I promised an American reader that I would translate “Megami Tensei” into English myself. In order to fulfill that promise, I am publishing this translation.
However, since contractual matters were resolved this month, my partner and I are in discussions with an overseas publisher regarding the translation. My translation is not polished enough as English. But it is faithful to the original text. I hope it will help a translator I trust understand my Japanese. And I believe that translator will turn the sequels to “Megami Tensei”—"Warrior of the Demon City” and “The End of Reincarnation”—into wonderful English novels.
Therefore, I will remove this text by the end of July. In the meantime, I hope you will take the time to savor what “Digital Devil Story” is all about.

Meet the Muslim-obsessed MA State Senator Jamie Eldridge
- proposed a bill to prioritize Muslims for government positions
- received an award from CAIR (classified as a terrorist org in multiple states) for his work on justice for Muslims
Does he represent foreign muslim invaders or American citizens?
He’s up for reelection this November.
Vote smart, MA!
I will never understand the obsession with companies forsaking their original fans to cater to those with fragile sensibilities.
The original fans love the original games exactly the way they are. If you want to sell to those fans again, all you have to do is offer it a new coat of pain.
However, if you go out of your way to change things because they can be seen as "insensitive", you're betraying the very people that got you to where you are in the first place.
The only ones that would ask for stuff like this are in the very loud minority.

🚨NEWS: There has been uproar in the Japanese region of Hokkaido as Pakistani Muslims have created a no-go area
Locals report being told to leave and that they are not welcome there
The internet might be over.
I am not talking about the corporate, ad-filled internet. I mean the real one. The one you use to talk with your friends, find niche communities, and freely share ideas. The way you access and interact with the digital world is about to change forever if we don't speak up right now.
The U.S. House of Representatives just passed the KIDS Act. Do not let the well-intentioned name fool you. This massive legislative package is a wolf in sheep’s clothing that could potentially cause an unfathomable amount of damage to the privacy, security, and free speech of every single citizen in the United States.
Major civil liberties and digital rights organizations, including the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression) are sounding the alarm. This bill is a massive over-reach of legislation designed to curtail your freedoms, everyones.
Under this bill, websites and apps will be pressured to verify the age of all users to avoid massive legal liability. This creates a de facto age-verification mandate, meaning you could soon be forced to upload government IDs, passports, or hand over biometric facial scans just to use standard apps or browse everyday websites. Forcing every corner of the web to collect and store these massive databases of citizen identity documents is an absolute cybersecurity nightmare waiting to happen, creating a golden target for hackers and data leaks.
The bill also takes direct aim at standard privacy features like disappearing or ephemeral messaging, treating basic digital privacy tools like dangerous design tricks rather than the digital equivalent of a private, real-world conversation. By weaponizing broad, vague definitions of "harmful content," the package pressures tech platforms to heavily over-censor completely lawful speech out of fear of massive government lawsuits. It risks sanitizing the internet and shutting down vital spaces for free expression and open communication.
This won't stop at signing up for websites, or chat apps. It will extend to artwork websites, multimedia hubs like Newgrounds, Music sites, even Reddit and 4chan will be subjected to this, and while you might think it's well deserved, you won't be saying that when they start asking users to verify their age on Mangadex or doujinshi sites, or on Itch io. Going to websites outside the US would be scrutinized if it doesn't follow the same criteria.
VPNs? Forget it, they'll try to outlaw those, too.
We all want children to be safe, but turning the entire internet into an Orwellian surveillance state where you have to show papers just to log on is a terrifying overreach. The bill has passed the House, which means the battleground is officially moving to the Senate. We cannot afford to sit this one out. This is a slippery slope and we must not give them this power over all of us.
Ill admit it. Im a warhammer 40k fan..
