I will never be able to understand people who hate Messi.
He's never given people a genuine reason to hate him. Most of the criticism directed at him is built on misinformation.
You simply can't ignore the impact he's had on football. It genuinely makes me sad that hating on Messi has become a trend. I understand that everyone loves an underdog, but that shouldn't turn into tearing down one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.
Especially when many newer fans only know the ending of his story and didn't witness the years of criticism, heartbreak, and pressure he endured with Argentina before finally winning it all.
Greatness should be celebrated and admired, not hated.
A well-planned hate campaign against Argentina. The media refused to hype Messi's once-in-a-lifetime World Cup run at 39, the refereeing in the final was questionable too and then FIFA robbed him of another well deserved individual award. What a clown world we live in man.
If you celebrating Messi crying tonight, just know that you celebrating a 39 year old MLS player coming to World Cup and outperforming all the big football superstars in their prime. Messi there is nothing to cry about, you did 1 million times more than any Messi fan thought you’ll do in this World Cup. Thank you for everything the Greatest of all time ❤️
Kinda out of context but the Qatar 2022 trophy lift will never be matched in terms of aesthetics man.
Messi wearing the bisht from the King of Qatar and doing the runup with the trophy was just something insane.
Will hold it in my heart forever.
He could've easily walked away after the last World Cup, leaving behind the perfect ending. The final chapter written exactly the way everyone dreamed it would be.
But that's never been Messi.
Why chase the perfect picture when you still have something left in your heart to give? Why choose your own fairytale ending when your team still needs you?
The highlight of his career has always been playing for the team, not chasing his own perfect story. And that's probably how his international career ends.
Thank you, Messi, for another all-time World Cup campaign. No matter what happened in the final, history will never forget the sight of a 39-year-old Messi from MLS standing on the biggest stage in football and proving, once again, that greatness has no age.
Messi & Argentina got disrespected throughout the tournament because of blatant lies, disgusting propaganda.
They never got the respect they deserve for their mentality. It was always fake stuff, lies, campaigns from certain pussies.
39 yr old dragged his team to the final literally being at the top of every statistic for his team. We’ll never see another player like you again Messi 🐐
Lionel Scaloni: "I hope people are proud of Leo Messi.
"He’s the greatest footballer to have ever stepped onto a pitch.”
"What he did at this World Cup is incredible.”
He already had the greatest ending in football history. Instead of walking away, he came back and gave Argentina one more unforgettable run to the World Cup final
The greatest of all time🇦🇷🐐
Thank you for everything.
Dropping one of the best World Cup campaigns at the age of 39.
Greatest sportsman of all time.
Greatest player in history of the sport.
