More than 26,000 plants in 3 months!
In an enormous planting effort, 26,195 native trees, shrubs and grasses have been planted along the Merri and Hopkins Rivers in and around Warrnambool at 20 different sites for our Rivers of Warrnambool and Platy Patch projects. #CMAsGetItDone

There was some very merry planting last week thanks to Yr 11 outdoor ed students from Emmanuel College Warrnambool.
Over 3 days, students planted out 900 native tree and grass species on the the Merri and Hopkins Rivers, revegetating riverbanks

As part of the Victorian Government's Drought Employment Program the Glenelg Hopkins CMA has been providing work and training opportunities to locals affected by the dry spell over the past couple of years.
Recently, that included training in chainsaw operation and tree falling.
