Ghana’s public debt has increased by GH¢30.5bn after the country entered into an IMF deal in May 2023
Data from the Bank of Ghana revealed that the total public debt stock of the country increased from GHS 579 bn to GHS 610 bn after the country commenced its IMF programme
Bloomberg reports show the cedi depreciated by nearly 9% in Q1 of 2024, ranking it as the third weakest currency after Nigeria and Egypt.

Two transport unions have announced an increase in transport fares, effective Saturday, April 13, 2024.
The unions announced a 15% rise for short-distance fares, 20% for long-journey trips, and a 15% increase for taxis. Short-distance taxi fares will change from GH¢ 10 to GH¢ 15
Ghana's Non-Performing Loan rate on a stratospheric rise as rate hits 24.6%.
This means every GHS100 loan sanctioned, commercial banks loses at least GHS24.6.
