Picked up a 1958 military meter built like a tank. No PCB. Components packed into a tiny chassis, which should make troubleshooting easy.
DC and ohms worked. Switch to AC: dead, and it smelled.
Fed Build the manual and told it what happened. It asked what the smell was closest to: horseradish or old Band-Aid.
Old Band-Aid.
It listed the likely failures and how to test each one.
Then I asked if it could render a 3D model of the unit from the wiring diagram and photos. No problem. Built and rendered in the browser.
Went further and told it to use the real photos on the model. It did, then added a view that isolates just the AC test circuit.
Parts are labeled. Click one and the description shows in the sidebar.
It also built a PDF with test order, photos, and instructions, then iMessaged it to my phone for the bench.
Elon was right. The future isn’t what you can build by hand. It’s what you can see in your head. The rest gets automated.

This is the same with all private labels. You would be surprised how few factories there are for each category. Only the specs are changed to meet customer demand. When you walk a Sam’s, Costco, Target, Walmart, you can literally count the factories on your fingers worldwide for each category with the capacity to handle orders of that size
