This Akademiks situation is actually WILD when you really think about it.

The federal government just showed you that they are watching this content. An interview from YOUR platform literally became evidence in Lil Durk’s federal trial.

And somehow the lesson Akademiks seems to have taken from that is to keep bringing young Black rappers who are connected to very real street conflicts in front of him and asking them increasingly police-style questions about who did what, who knew what and who may have been involved in what.

That’s the part I can’t understand.

When you sat across from Yungeen Ace asking questions surrounding Foolio’s death, did it ever register that the same federal government studying Durk’s interviews could one day be studying yours?

At what point does the chase for the viral moment make you lose sight of what’s actually happening around you?

There is a difference between documenting the culture and constantly putting young Black men in a chair and trying to get them to explain active street situations for entertainment.
