@AzuOneesan Don't confuse that with the ownership. And if an Artist wants to complain otherwise, then contract a different illustrator for yourself. Your money shouldn't fuel someone that will not play fairly with you.
@AzuOneesan To elaborate for ya, the first is the "Gone in 60 Seconds" question. Who owns the character.
The second is are you getting someone's work for free vs if you got it as a commissioned/contracted work.
Legally speaking, the Artists offer a service of illustrating the character if so
