There obviously is something offensive about it.
You could say you think despite the offensive nature, you believe the comparison is merited based on the facts. But please don’t be obtuse.
There's nothing "offensive" about comparing the actions and mentality of Israel to those of the Nazis. What is offensive is demanding that one country and only it -- Israel -- be exempt from those comparisons because it hurts people's feelings, or because it seems "bigoted" to compare them.
The whole point of the Nuremberg Trials was that the precedents set there would only have meaning -- i.e., be something beyond mere "victor's justice" -- if those principles applied to the actions of **all countries** in the future. Israel doesn't have some special, unique exemption from the imperative.
@MarioNawfal I’m just letting you know, as someone who works with Congress, this makes no sense.
Section 224 has not “passed” in the sense that it is effective law/ policy until the NDAA passes both chambers.
The bill hasn’t even been voted on yet in the House.
Hope this helps.
Weird how you haven’t had anything to say about other Mideast countries who influenced so much of our politics and policy but found the time to say something about the one country who leads the charge to oppose the Abraham-accords and normalizing relations with Israel?!?
Three women who dated Graham Platner, the Democratic candidate for Senate in Maine, told The New York Times they found his actions intimidating and disturbing, describing volatile relationships. https://t.co/ClaeKxVUEs
@cenkuygur We do this with the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand (known as Five Eyes).
NDAAs regularly facilitate this sort of thing see AUKUS or agreements with Japan, and South Korea.
Cenk, like usual is a gaslighting liar, which is why nobody on the Hill takes him seriously.
@EYakoby Senator Fetterman just joined as a cosponsor on the DETERRENT Act which will help reveal billions of dollars of undisclosed gifts from foreign countries.
The bill passed the House with 31 Dems voting for it along with the full range of Republicans (including Massie)
Jewish Students for America thanks @SenFettermanPA for becoming the first Senate Democrat to co-sponsor the DETERRENT Act.
The act will reveal how foreign governments influence institutions of higher education and protects American security interests. The House version of the bill passed with 31 Democrats signing on.
We would like to thank our partner organizations for helping make this a reality and stand ready to work with other Democratic and Republican offices interested in this important legislation.
How in the hell has a defense witness in the 1993 WTC bombing, with ties to Al-Qaeda been nominated by the Democrats to serve in Congress?
If elected in November, Congress should fully investigate his ties to terrorist organizations and determine whether he is fit to serve.
Morning Update;
Spencer Pratt may advance to runoff against Mayor Bass of LA.
Iran hit Kuwait International Airport, killing one person and injuring over 60 others.
They also attacked Bahrain, but their air defenses shielded them.
Dr. Hamawy, who defended a man convicted in a “conspiracy related to the 1993 bombing of the WTC” has won the NJ-12 congressional office. He also served as a doctor in Gaza recently and previously served in the military.
Rep. Mike Lawler, considered a moderate in the Republican caucus, called for a Congressional investigation into Dr. Hamawy.
More than that, SJP and their linked organizations like WOL and others, regularly call for direct actions on synagogues and Jewish schools.
In this message they clarify that DA means firebombing, killing, and “destroying” people for a belief.
@SecScottBessent it’s time to go after these groups.
Yesterday, on the one-year anniversary of the antisemitic firebombing attack in Boulder, the local SJP chapter chose to share a lengthy social media post glorifying the attack, lauding the terrorist for his actions, and calling for his release.
While we and others around the country remembered and mourned Karen Diamond z''l, who died from her injuries, and honored the other victims who were badly burned, the local SJP chapter chose to condone the violent attack that claimed an innocent life and left others with devastating injuries.
The content of the post is beyond reprehensible. It is so detached from basic facts, human decency and reality that it would be difficult to take seriously if its message were not so dangerous.
This is unacceptable and simply horrific.
