April is National Autism Awareness Month, and Henry County Schools proudly recognizes and celebrates the incredible students, families, and educators who help create inclusive learning environments every day. Together, we continue to promote understanding and support for individuals with autism across our community.

When kids enter elementary school, it’s only been:
• 3 years since they were potty trained
• 4 years since they started learning to talk
• 5 years since they opened their eyes to this world for the very first time
And yet… too often, we hear adults talk about kids they “don’t like.”
They are babies in this world. Still learning. Still becoming. Still figuring out their place.
Let’s never let frustration harden us.
Let’s be the adults who see the child beneath the behavior — and choose compassion every time. 💛
I started my day in the most perfect way reading to @TES_hcs 1st graders and @WES_HCS 3rd graders! They were locked in to ‘The Good Egg’ and shared great lessons the character learned! I even got to see my gifted friends! #HenryReads#GAReads#lovetoread
Grateful to a leader who doesn't just lead, but pours into others and produces leaders. Here's to another one, because when leaders grow leaders, everyone wins. Thank you Mr. Johnson, for pouring into me. #Leadership#Gratitude
Yesterday, I helped teachers connect differentiation within the MTSS framework and how to implement it in elementary, middle, and high schools. #SummerLiteracy
I don’t usually post about my own kiddos but this made me smile. Amira reading growth from Sept to Feb for my 2nd grader!!! We read EVERY SINGLE DAY! Her reward for reading growth will be extra $$ to buy more books from the book fair. #growingareader
Congratulations to Patton Wright from @OMS_HCS! His exceptional skills earned him the title of 2024-2025 HCS Spelling Bee champion. Runners-up included Madeline Sorto (@SMS_HCS), Alexa Fraser (@WMSHCS), and Lila Sciacca (@NHE_HCS). We are #HenryProud of all our competitors!
