diddy is fucking disgusting. attempting to change his name to “Love” after treating a woman like that is some of the nastiest, most manipulative work i’ve ever seen. pack him up for good. i’m so proud of cassie for getting out.
@EddieComeaux@jsulbn@UCLALawReview@DrUJayakumar It’s heartbreaking that student athletes of colors still face disparities in higher infatuations, addressing the “neutrality” there’s no such thing. Not everyone is privileged, or comes from a legacy. Inclusivity needs to be advocated more to have a fair admission process.
Sharing a @UCLALawReview article co-auth with @DrUJayakumar Bill Kidder & Sherod Thaxton on race, athletics, and admissions. We show that supposedly race-neutral admissions policies create advantages for white applicants.... let us know your thoughts.

@jsulbn@TA_ED50 I agree, opportunities aren’t easy to come for students of color because they don’t come from a legacy, and contrast a white person that has many resources. Education should be an equal opportunity for everyone. #ucr50@KatryaLy
The lack of inclusivity is disappointing. Students of color still face oppression and are stripped from opportunities such as being a student athlete in an Ivy League school. Given that these are private schools, how do we ensure that there is a fair balance? #UCR50
@HungryHoang @TA_ED50 I agree, student athletes, bring in so much fun of you for institutions that the money should at least be distributed with funding more scholarships better amenities for students as a whole, and not just bonuses for head coaches. @KatryaLy#ucr50
College athletes spend hours a day, practicing and excelling in sports to create a brand for the University. It doesn’t make sense why student athletes can’t have a vote in athletic departments.
#UCR50
@amieucr@abhornUCRedu@KatryaLy the patriarchy that is consistently displayed in higher division sports is not a shocking one. The coaches and athletic department is always heavily male dominated. The equality isn’t there. #UCR50
This lawsuit happened in 2020. Title IX was established in 1972. 48 years later and it’s still easy to not follow compliance without consequences. Isn’t it better to avoid lawsuits and keep the clean image of the institution? Why is gender equality still a controversial topic?
@vrodr096@KatryaLy Community inclusiveness starts at a young age. High school is a great example. My experience coming from a low income heavy minority population, transferring to a UC was a huge cultural shock and still is. Preparation at least talking about the reality should be enforced in HS.
Engagement within the athletic department is crucial given the racial divide. Assessments/meetings throughout quarter/semesters could ensure a positive campus climate. Letting students and coaches speak their minds will promote a safe space and inclusiveness in the team. #ucr50
@jsulbn@TA_ED50 What’s a culture or tradition at UCR? As an older transfer I unfortunately don’t feel that sense of community belonging. UCR enrollment is approximately 23,000. How do they accommodate transition? @KatryaLy#UCR50
This painted narrative of “dumb jock” is old. Athletes already have a biased stigma because they’re undermined by academic performance from professors. Professors shouldn’t treat a student any less, the issue should be pressed with coaches/dean, not students. #UCR50
@edisonpark333 @KatryaLy With an environment that enhances an immense amount of pressure, especially at such a young age, we need to pair the student athletes with therapist. The root of everything is mental health & making sure that they are ok mentally will guide direction for everything else to come.
Student athletes have the same academic commitment as reg students. Same classes, held @ the same standard. College athletes should only spend 20 hrs per wk w/sports, but putting in 40+ hrs w/ high demand. The media stereotypes “dumb jock” w/ headlines & not painting a full pic.
