She opened her gate to a "technician" and lost her phone, her laptop and her peace of mind.
Meet Ngozi, one of my childhood friend. Her AC started leaking on a Saturday, so she called a number from a flyer at the junction. The man arrived in a crisp blue uniform, very polite and confident.
He worked for an hour, asked for water, asked to use the toilet, then finally asked for "small change for transport to buy a part."
He never came back. Neither did the iPhone that was charging on the dining table.
When she called the number, it was switched off. The flyer had nothing to trace the man from apart from the phone number which is now switched off.
The scary part is not the phone, It is that she let a complete stranger into her home and knew nothing about him.
On Gikswork, every worker must submit their IDs for checks before they can take a job: We take NIN, driver's licence, international passport or BVN. And the name on the ID must match the name on their account.
You see their real work photos, their ratings from real employers, and how many jobs they have finished.
Their phone number and your address stay hidden until you hire.
Trust is not a vibe, It should be checked.
Find checked people near you.
Remember the cleaner who collected โฆ600k and got "stuck in traffic" for 24 hours? Part two.
The next morning, my guy woke up early, swept the parlour himself out of frustration, and waited.
After a long wait at 3pm, she finally shows up with ONE girl, a bucket and a broom that has seen better days.
"Where is your staff?" he asked.
"Oga, this is the staff, the others went for a burial."
They cleaned the parlour, just the parlour. By 6pm she said the rest needed "another visit," and that the โฆ600k was for "mobilisation."
Mobilisation? For a bucket?
He asked for a refund, but she said, "Money wey don enter account no dey come back."
He never saw her again.
Here is what should have happened to ensure this kind of issues do not arise:
On Gikswork, he posts the job and funds it, but the money does not go to the cleaner, it instead sits in escrow.
The cleaner sees the money is there, so she knows she will be paid. He on the other hand knows she will not be paid until the work is done.
She marks the job done, he checks the flat. Only then is she paid. If they disagree, a real person looks at the chat, the photos and the agreement, and decides fairly.

My neighbor was scammed of 600k and he didnt even know it
One of my neighbors had just come back from Georgia and was looking for an urgent cleaner to clean his apartment but since he knew no one, he decided to ask around and found someone.
At first, the cleaner came and when he saw the man just came back from the states, she activated her Naija aura.
"Madam, how much to clean this 3 bedroom apartment", he inquired, the woman sensing he is back with hard currency promptly said 900k, after a few back and forth, they landed on 600k and the man was super excited.
The man promptly paid and the woman promised to return with her staff.
After about five hours of waiting with no response, he decided to call back but the lady was not picking, after 24 hours, the woman called back and apologised that she was stuck in traffic. "You mean to tell me you've been stuck in traffic for a full day and your phone suddenly developed wings and you couldnt find it?", the man angrily retorted.
After another back and forth, the woman agreed to come the next day but what happened the next day will shock you.......
While staying tuned for part two, this is exactly one of the reasons we're building Gikswork.

@_ziadhaitham@Yahya_content@VFXSheriff@sociomatric Does not matter, if he can, let him post 200 times until he is paid, otherwise we will just be encouraging gutter behavior from some of these employers
@PlayZapGames@YouTube This is a great feat, let's be your distribution partner as we manage clippers on Instagram, Tiktok, Youtube, and X across MENA, EMEA, APAC, and LATAM
@editzenafx This is one reason why we're building the next generation of clipping platform where we have the official API's from Youtube, Instagram, X, and Tiktok connect and verify each submitted link so no ones work is stolen and must be from connected account.

@jon_d_doe Its packaging, if Africans package skulls in show glasses and not tie red wrappers with twigs on their forehead, maybe it might look a lot less dangerous.
Perception is real life.
@zuess05 That's because distribution must be targeted at the right ICP. If a Crypto brand is distributing contents to a fashion audience, best case scenario would be visibilty and engagement but low sales.
This is why we've built the right audience via clipper networks so our clients MI
