My big loss that pregnancy has caused this time around is that "natural flavouring" for berry flavours (gummies, some juices, etc) taste like perfume :( big sad that I can't continue to live in ignorance.
@morayita123 100%, my overall experience with CICO/counting calories over years now (like 10 years on and off) is that even during times like pregnancy/breastfeeding, I am +/- 50 cals from calculators as long as I'm tracking everything honestly.
One thing I have realized this pregnancy - if I have an afternoon or evening where I'm feeling 'blah' but not specifically bad, try putting on compression socks (it works like 80-90% of the time)
@afoidinlove I got a few on my thighs (I gained like 45-50 lbs with my first two pregnancies) but nothing on my tummy. Stretch marks I care less about though, it's the loose skin that I struggle with, idk. I think genes are a big factor though, my mom got a lot of stretch marks.
@selentelechia What did you do during this time? I might try doing this today (we just got a time that visually disappears for my 3.5yo) I just would either be "too productive" or sit on my phone
@darthcaro My mat jeans from H&M that I thrifted that are from several years ago still work at 37 weeks along. Newer version never stayed up (waist/hip ratio wrong) and now the belly panel doesn't fit, and thighs are too narrow. YOU ALREADY HAVE THE PATTERN JUST MAKE IT AGAIN
@darthcaro I was literally just ranting to my husband that companies only make maternity clothes for people who barely need them now. Terribly unflattering, not enough belly room (around or vertically), and like barely even made for 3 dimensional people to wear?
@nm_webb Obvs if it's really bad antibiotics are needed, but that was the reasoning the doc I saw several years ago gave (she still gave me a prescription but told me to only take it if I felt like I needed to, which I did because I needed to get back to work 😅)
@nm_webb Fwiw docs where I am are also quite measured on giving antibiotics for strep, apparently there was a study in Europe that showed that the body beating the bacteria on its own strengthened the immune system enough to do better at fighting post surgical infections later on in life
@soupcanarchist I honestly love my Lenovo Chromebook, I got it for $250 (CAD) refurbished on Amazon. *Caveat, I use Google docs/sheets, not office products
I have reached the point in pregnancy where I feel compelled to buy multiples of food so that we don't run out when I'm freshly postpartum, for my husband's sake.
I think I have realized that my sisters are unconcerned with having a relationship with me, despite me trying to keep the door open these past few months
@awifeinlove Yeah I don't have the painless ones (I'm 36 weeks with baby #3), I get the period cramp type. For me when it's real labour they are worse and have a pattern and settle into waves.
My sisters are basically both pagan now apparently, and they have been pushing the envelope recently with what they can get away with at family gatherings. So we've been trying to set boundaries (we are the only ones with kids) but they are causing drama about it 🤪 fun times
