Thank you, Diane Keaton, for the movies, the laughter, the life you brought to every frame.
That βYou Donβt Own Meβ dance in The First Wives Club feels eternal now.
It is not a case of get up and go after having a seizure.
Every person's recovery from a seizure is different and will also depend on the type of seizures experienced.
What helps you recover after a seizure?

@BrainAblaze Several years ago, I had a supervisor at an old job tell me 'if you didn't think about about having Epilepsy then maybe you would have as many fits', she then went on to tell me to get a hold on my brain condition (whilst waving her hand infront of my face).... cont-->
@epilepsyaction Thanks for your reply too π I really hope there will be more adverts/awareness for other types of seizures. It can be difficult to explain Absence, Focals etc to people as they tend to only associate #epilepsy as only having TC's, so awareness & campaigns would be helpful π
@epilepsyaction as great as the #EpilepsyAwareness advert is, it's only relevant for #TonicClonic#seizures I'm just wondering if there will be adverts for Focal, Absence & other seizure types? #Epilepsy is more than TC seizures! Other seizures need representation too π
For anyone who hasn't seen it yet, here's our new TV advert.πΊ
If you see our ad on TV, make sure to get a pick of it and share it with us using #EpilepsyAction
@writerblog72@catdeeley@thismorning I know what you mean. The slightest twitch, jolt or feeling a bit off, I instantly go into panic mode. So many focals are resulting in TC & my body is taking a battering. I feel like I'm barely hanging on most days. It's a neverending cycle of stress & fear.
Sending big hugs π
@writerblog72@catdeeley@thismorning Of when the next seizure will strike. My Epilepsy was controlled until 3yrs ago & now the slightest thing is a trigger. Our loved ones have to watch us go through it & look after us, it breaks my heart. Jokes about seizures are insensitive Ps: it's nice to meet another Gillian π₯°
@writerblog72@catdeeley@thismorning Epilepsy definitely ruined my life. I am lucky to have supportive husband & kids but my seizures are getting worse & more frequent. My job is hanging on by a thread due to being off for seizure recovery. I feel I have lost control of my body. I have constant anxiety from fear....
Just 2 months ago for Purple Day, @catdeeley you helped raise awareness about epilepsy & still end up saying something thoughtless.
Your careless use of language has real consequences for people with epilepsy who already face so much stigma.
This is why we need more awareness!
@LolaBeans31@Amy_bellxx@epilepsysociety@catdeeley@thismorning Yeah it's the same for me too, my husband & kids make jokes with me over my epilepsy & seizures. We have a sense of humour over them because it helps me get through having them π
I don't understand why she didn't just say she was having a dance, why say seizure π
@Amy_bellxx@epilepsysociety@catdeeley@thismorning I agree with you! Cat Deeley's flippant remark was not funny. She should know better considering they did a segment for #EpilepsyAwareness in March.
I laugh at my own seizures too because I have Epilepsy, my husband & kids have banter with me over it, but this is different...
