@RyshabTalks thank you for that amazing shoutout there!! Give yourself some credit as well, because it takes a discerning eye to know what names to concentrate in while managing a portfolio. The stock price for $ALAB has been a rollercoaster ride no doubt!
I believe like you wrote, the company and the stock may have a lot of legs left to run. I remember when the market cap for Astera was below 10B, I mentioned I thought the company had the potential to be a trillion dollar market cap company one day. Rarely do I ever see a company which could have that much potential upside. However, if Astera can even get half way to their vision of being the "mothership of the data center", there is likely significant upside ๐

I've put together a quick write up for this company as I am expecting a promising earnings report later this week, https://t.co/7KwnixvULV
@articfox345 Iโm guessing this is because they are investing in the business and scaling up capacity. They acquire inventory ahead of customer demand. Will check tomorrow more after the conference call if there looks to be any issues here!
Silicon Motion $SIMO just posted some of the most impressive earnings numbers I have seen in awhile! They surpassed my wildest expectations with revenue coming in at +105% year over year! Here are my early thoughts on the headline numbers,

Nice post and interesting to see what Claude thought about how margins work in your methodology.
One aspect I look at for lower margin businesses is the trend of the margin. For example a 20% margin business jumping up to 25% may indicate they have a new product, pricing power, or some new manufacturing efficiency. Likewise a 20% margin business going down to 15% margins may be facing competitive pressure, pricing going against them, or trouble scaling up.
Not sure how simple it would be to handle in the methodology, but there could be a way to include that if the margin is trending upwards, it can outweigh the overall margin metric.
Good question, I was initially thinking the same of why be in $SIMO over $MU or $SNDK, when $SIMO has lower margins. Part of the reason is that almost all the memory makers left the "controller" side of the business precisely because it is lower margin. In the meantime Silicon Motion increased their innovation edge and lead here on innovation, as they take more and more market share. Margins are expected to increase towards the 2nd half of 2026 for Silicon Motion. Basically there's a lot of competition in memory itself, but the competition is lessening in the memory controller market.
New video is out on what I believe is the cheapest AI semiconductor growth stock in the market! ๐Silicon Motion $SIMO makes memory controllers with an incredibly impressive roster of customers including NVIDIA, Google, Micron, and SK Hynix

@RyshabTalks@The_StockDoc Awesome post! I'm always appreciating your color commentary and analysis of the stocks as well! Like you mentioned we are playing a non-zero sum game, or what I learned recently is also called a positive sum game ๐๐
@articfox345 Yep! Still pretty small allocation at this point, around 2% or so. I'd like to see one more report and where they guide. Would also be good to see the stock get through the 6 month lockup period post IPO and how it is trading then.
