Russia-Africa Summit 2026 :
President Putin paid tribute to Thomas Sankara during his speech today in Moscow, by saying:
I would like to recall the words of the great son of the Burkinabe people, Chairman of the Revolutionary Council and first President of Burkina Faso, Thomas Sankara. He said: "Debt is neo-colonialism, in which colonizers transformed themselves into “technical assistants”. Under its current form, that is imperialism-controlled, debt is a cleverly managed re-conquest of Africa, aiming at subjugating its growth and development through foreign rules."
He added: these words were spoken not so long ago, though not yesterday either – back in 1987. Unfortunately, little has changed since then.
Thank you president Putin, for saying it the way it is.
Until 2013, the Mormon Church taught that slavery was sanctioned by God and that black skin is the result of a divine curse which will be lifted at death if black people are righteous, after which they will become white.
Why on earth is this church growing fast in Africa?
The thing about imperialism is that it is ubiquitous and impossible to avoid.
Nigerians who think they can have intelligent discussions around politics, economics and business without acknowledging imperialism are just like a castrated man who wants to marry a wife and have kids, but doesn't want to acknowledge his condition.
I'm sorry, but just because you're in denial, or the subject makes you uncomfortable, or you don't want to upset your white friends and investors by talking about it does not mean that this 800-foot elephant in the room is going to disappear.
The imperial system you live under is why you eat imported rice and your bread is made with imported wheat, while your own agricultural land is used for industrial monoculture plantations growing export crops you can't eat like cocoa and cashew.
Imperialism is why your kid goes to school wearing a neck tie, a wool sweater, a thick blazer and cotton socks while the temperature outside is 33⁰C.
Imperialism is why you put on your TV news and the presenter is chewing her tongue desperately trying and failing to mimic the accent of a public school headteacher from Abingdon-on-Thames, whereas literally nobody in the history of her watching audience has ever sounded like that.
Imperialism is why your central bank interest rate is always double digit, which means that consumer credit is literally nonexistent. No amount of roundtable sessions, seminars, and breakfast meetings with the bankers committee and PhD economists can change that basic eternal reality of your economy.
Imperialism is why despite having double digit central bank lending rates, your currency somehow manages to always face inflationary pressure and regularly posts double digit percentage losses in a single day. You can do all the clever economic chart drawings and financial engineering you want, but they are completely useless in the face of imperialist decisions like Structural Adjustment Programs, which you experienced by other names from 1986 to 1988 and from 2023 to 2025.
Imperialism is why you can have all your lovely ideas for leadership and governance, and a young population that is hungry for good leadership, but everytime you go into a "democratic election", you end up coming out with Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu. You can read all your "Why Nations Fail" and do all your "PVC sensitisation drives" and do all the "protect the votes" on election day, and at the end of all the wahala, the INEC chairman will announce that a crippled goat with craw-craw has won the election and if you don't like it you will go and meet Kekere-Ekun in court.
Imperialism is why when you are having sex with your partner, you moan in English and make American noises even though you've never left Owerri before, and your sexual encounters always happen with a specific sequence that starts from oral and culminates in doggy - it's because all the porn you have ever watched in your life has been hosted and curated by American platforms, and you have over time taken on their sexual personality as your own.
Imperialism is why you build with cement blocks plastered with concrete in your 34⁰C climate, even though concrete generates vast amounts of heat as it cures, and it can take years to fully cure, during which time it slowly cooks you in your own house - but rammed earth which your ancestors used is only just becoming a thing once again because white people have "discovered" it and put a brand on it that makes it desirable after they once labelled it as 'primitive'.
I could go on and on. As long as you're determined to avoid confronting the ubiquitous and all-pervasive reality of imperialism in Nigeria, you're not really ready to confront whatever problem you are facing, from food to healthcare to education to public policy to poverty.
If you're not acknowledging that underlying reality, you're just another Nigerian wasting their whole life performing the appearance of thinking, and creating useless content.
Millions of Nigerians know Ladi Kwali’s face. Very few know her real story.
Kwali’s work made her Nigeria’s first internationally renowned potter—but the true source of her artistic genius has often been misunderstood.

NIGERIA 🇳🇬 IS ABOUT TO LOOSE IT'S FOOD SOVEREIGNTY 🚨
Nigeria’s National Assembly is currently pushing HB 2659 (the Nutritionists Registration Council of Nigeria Bill). While lawmakers claim it's meant to "stop quackery," civil society groups are raising serious red flags about what this bill actually hides.
local chefs, traditional food experts, and elders who pass down indigenous food knowledge will face heavy fines or up to two years in prison for practicing without a corporate license.
Section 32 of the bill also allows this new regulatory council to accept foreign funding and grants ( Bill gates and his GMO guys).
If this bill is passed, traditional chefs who do not follow the standard being set by bill gates, through Nigerian law makers, will face 2 years in prison and a heavy fine.
If you are a Nigerian, you can contact your elected representative to join the effort to stop the passage of this bill using the details provided here: https://t.co/mPWyHZRCw4
This is why the Western nations are only interested in democracy! A revolutionist military govt is too difficult to deal with. The deep state includes the corporation, billionaires, the banks, global hegemony etc. They're mostly interested in resources and the wealth of the world
"If an institution always needs to be threatened and coerced with violence before it does what it supposedly exists to do, does it still deserve to exist?"
A question.
"We understood the trick early."
One of the biggest national flexes a country can have.
Most of us in the Global South didn't unfortunately, which is why many of us don't even understand that Iran is literally taking bullets for us right now as you're reading this.
The West didn't end colonialism. They rebranded it as development.
The formula never changed: debt and dependency for the obedient, sanctions and coups for the defiant.
We understood the trick early, never bowed, paid the price and humiliated the Great Satan.
One more blunder by the US and its myth is over.
The $31 billion wig industry was not built by accident. The West criminalised Black hair, sold Black women chemical relaxers that cause cancer, and then profited again when the damage forced them to buy wigs. Schools in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa still shave girls' heads. Nollywood still links natural hair to poverty and wigs to success. Over 12,000 lawsuits later, the truth is out. Wear what you want, but know the economy behind the choice.
Niger built forty-nine factories in one year while the West and France called it a pariah state. The poorest.
One year. Forty-nine industrial units. Six hundred and sixty-five point seven billion CFA francs mobilized from Nigerien pockets and partners who do not demand structural adjustment in return.
Nine thousand two hundred jobs for a population that was told its only future was aid dependency and exile. Large-scale factories. Medium-scale workshops. Small-scale plants.
All of them rooted in Nigerien soil, hiring Nigerien hands, and keeping Niger wealth inside Niger borders.
