As our first day comes to a close, we owe you a bit of an update. In a word: incredible.
In only about 12 hours, more than 1,700 graduate workers signed a union card to affirm our demand for fair working conditions at the University of Minnesota.
The moment you’ve been waiting for is finally here! Graduate workers at the University of Minnesota are signing cards in support of unionizing because we know we are stronger together–and that the U works because WE do! Learn more at https://t.co/96X0sG5aMI
I’m feeling really down so I’m gonna share what’s going on with brutal honesty with the hope that it helps. I had a not so great experience today that caused some unexpected health issues. I’m now stuck at the doctor and can’t present at ISLS tonight.
Too many feelings. But there will be more conferences and more chances to share great work. Anyways take care of yourselves - I’m gonna try to take my own advice :)
I was feeling so confident about the project and looking forward to getting to share it with new people. It feels so unfair that I’m not able to celebrate something I worked for so long on in the way I hoped to. But health comes first, even with all the academic guilt I’m feeling
also I’m still thinking about how when we went out afterwards @LoiselleTayler said I was mysterious for ordering a single shot of Malibu??? an ego boost I do not deserve
@LoiselleTayler I wish I could give helpful advice but I will say I feel better knowing I’m not the only one dealing with sleep issues and I’m really sorry you have to go through it 😭
Congress must pass legislation that codifies Roe v. Wade as the law of the land in this country NOW. And if there aren’t 60 votes in the Senate to do it, and there are not, we must end the filibuster to pass it with 50 votes.
sometimes peer pressure is good. I would like to be peer pressured into finishing a final paper this weekend 😬 why is it always so hard to do the very last thing on my to do list each semester 🫠🫠🫠

.@colinlecher and I found that https://t.co/y3I4tlQVtz sent financial aid applicants’ personal data to FB. For those not in the US, this is the site where students need to go to apply for help affording college. https://t.co/JepSEzxJOw

closing the tab groups for each class at the end of the semester feels almost as good as throwing away all the accumulated random papers and notes after each year like I did in middle/high school 😌
getting excited for the #AERA2022 session on attention and strategy use in context #divC - it’s my first ever AERA presentation! even though everyone is almost conferenced-out by now, I hope you join us :-) https://t.co/gloXAcUf4i (11:45am CT)
How many writers would go to a cafe that won’t let you leave until you finish the work? This cafe in Japan may be on to something. 😂 https://t.co/8GsBSnKi1y
