I expected a historical mystery with a little romance.

Instead, Letters From Lucca completely caught me off guard.

By the second half, I wasn't just following Sammi's search for answers—I was emotionally invested in Rosa's story, and the final chapters genuinely brought me to tears (which almost never happens anymore).

If you enjoy historical fiction that explores humanity as much as history, this one is worth your time.
