In April Patrick Dumont told me when I asked about Jason Kidd’s performance last season:

“He’s an important voice in our organization. I really value his insights and his knowledge of the game. I know the rest of the team does, as well.”

Three weeks later Dumont hired Masai Ujiri. Given Dumont’s regard for Kidd, his departure is a clear indication that Dumont has given full basketball control to Ujiri.

Especially considering Dumont now has to eat 4 years of Kidd salary while also paying a new coach.

2025-2026 Stars Teacher of the Year returned home to @LakeHighlandsHS, as a teacher ready to serve the community that shaped her.
