Announcement of a Final Fantasy XV remake by Creative Studio 1, with Nomura as director, Nojima as scenario writer, and Shimomura as composer. This remake would be a trilogy, the one originally planned by Nomura, telling the true story of Noctis and his companions, his relationship with Stella, as well as the mysterious connection that Noctis and Stella share through the "Eyes That See the Expiring Light of Souls."

In addition, the announcement of Final Fantasy XVII by Creative Studio 2, whose artistic direction would be inspired by a Victorian steampunk setting.

Both games would take the gameplay of Final Fantasy VII Remake as their foundation and evolve it in different directions.
