As Teacher Appreciation week ends, understand we have a teacher shortage because we have an attrition crisis. Teachers are leaving in droves because they don’t feel supported, valued, & they are simply burnt out. We need to take care of our teachers more than one week a year.

To the people who say it’s all about the kids. Just remember the kids learn in an environment created by the teacher. A teacher who is supported, encouraged and appreciated will create a more positive and dynamic learning environment than a teacher who is not supported that way.

Admin may not have the power to give pay raises. But they have the power to support, encourage, and appreciate their staff. These can be done freely and daily.
