The problem with running a service based business is that you people are ill mannered. Most customers have serious terrible attitudes. And when they give you or want to give you small money, they automatically feel like a god.
Something just came to my head.
Before I became an entrepreneur, I used to think the dream was simple: make enough money so I could fund every business idea by myself. In my mind, using your own money meant freedom. No investors. No pressure. No explaining yourself to anybody.
If it’s the right investor and the right structure, that external accountability can actually make you build a better business than you would have built on your own.
Funny how entrepreneurship changes the things you once believed.

How do I give them their returns? How do I still make a profit?”
It’s not just about spending anymore. It’s about stewardship.
That’s why I don’t think taking investment is automatically a bad thing anymore.
Now compare that to using someone else’s money.
Omo, the pressure is different.
Your brain starts working differently. You become more disciplined. More intentional. You’re constantly asking yourself, “How do I make this money back?
Why?
Because there’s something about using only your own money that can make you comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, ofcourse you want your money back. But deep down, you know you don’t owe anyone an explanation. If things don’t go as planned, it’s painful, but it’s still your money
But after years of building businesses, I don’t think that’s what I want anymore.
In fact, if I had ₦900 million today, I don’t think I’d be in a hurry to put all of it into one business.
@EKEDP So waiting till Tuesday would be almost a month without light when i have unit in my meter.. @EKEDP do something because it’s getting frustrating!!
@EKEDP I haven’t had light for 3 weeks now!! Called your customer service, they never sent anyone as they said they would, someone finally called from your office after going through a frnd and he says he can’t do anything till Tuesday because he needs a tamper code
There’s a different kind of validation that hits when someone who has worked closely with you for years sees your work and is stunned.
Yesterday my videographer walked into our latest set up and literally said:
“Chidera, whatever you smoked to design this… keep smoking it.” 😂
