The first perp DEX in a while that's genuinely technically different from the rest. Usually a new venue is just "same engine, nicer interface." This one's different: they rebuilt how the trade itself works.

What's the problem with almost every perp? Speed wins. Orders match one by one, and whoever's fastest gets filled first. So bots snipe the price right in front of you, and MEV and front-running quietly eat into your profit on every trade. You're paying for that just by the way the venue is built.

@slx_fi breaks that logic. Its engine, Prism, doesn't match orders one at a time. It collects them into a tiny window (40ms) and clears them all at once - at a single fair price tied to an oracle. Nobody sees your order early and gets to play against it.

What that means:

No speed race, you compete on price, not on ping or whose server sits closer

Far less MEV and front-running - fairness is baked into the mechanism, not just promised

Fair fills. Everyone in the batch gets the same price
limit orders can even fill better than you set them, if price moves mid-window

And it doesn't just run on any chain. Everything settles on @fogo - an SVM L1 built specifically for trading. For a batch model like this it's critical: trading and settlement have to stay in sync, or things break down on margin and liquidations.

There's also a genuinely fresh idea in their whitepaper - a perp that doesn't depend on time at all. Instead of the usual funding-by-the-clock, exposure is built around price levels.
