As Boris Johnson is due to give evidence to the #CovidInquiry some choice words from John Bercow,
"Never has a prime minister wielded so much power, made so little effective use of it, and been and been seen to be inn quite such an indecent haste to blow his own trumpet"
"I've been aware of 12 prime ministers in my lifetime, by a country mile, Boris Johnson is the worst"
"He's a narcissist, he doesn't do the detail. He's ritually dishonest, having a nodding acquaintance with the truth at best, only in a leap year"
"He's responsible for a catalogue of failures. He's the most inarticulate public speaker and prime minister I've ever known"
"He has no redeeming virtues. He's stayed there far too long. It is time that he gave up office and beetled off into the distance. Which would be an enormous relief. Not just to this country and the European continent, but to the world"
"And one of these days Trevor. I'll try to tell you what I really think"
@implausibleblog During the first COVID wave, Italy's north was hit hard, unlike the south, thanks to early lockdowns. This stark contrast underscored the effectiveness of lockdowns over allowing public gatherings, demonstrating their critical role in managing pandemics.
The resolution passed today is an appalling and dangerous statement by the Parliament. The text criticises Israel mildly or not at all, obscures context, fails to even call for a ceasefire, and amounts to a green light for Israel to keep going.

The aid delivered to Gaza so far is barely making a dent.
We need more, and we need it now.
We need it to include fuel.
And we need it to go to civilians in need wherever they are.
I can’t stress this enough.
Since Israel declared its war on Hamas and launched strikes on Gaza, close to 60 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank, many by Jewish settlers. I went to one village where residents have been caught in the deadly crosshairs in just the past few days.

“Oxford Street disorder: Braverman wants culprits hunted down”. My take: Invest in public swimming pools, well run youth clubs, community centres, mental health programmes, summer activities. Care for youth. Cost of inaction greater than cost of action. https://t.co/RGlJtampSz
