It's 2020. We have so much to do but in less time. As creative as we are and may be, we're tempted to write about anything that catches the eye. How do you make your audience ask when you are posting a new piece? How do you make them ask you 'Is that all for the day?'
Book lovers ....don't feel left out of all the activities this December.
Here are some events to attend over the weekend!
And of course join us on radio at 8.30pm tomorrow(Sunday) on Citi 97.3fm.
What were your fears? Did you have a particular way of talking? What did you want to have?
Digging into these aspects of your unemployed life and fitting them into your character's life makes them lifelike.
PS: It's hard work. But it's rewarding. Start now.
"People turn to fiction in order to know people better than they can ever know them in real life. If your story tells them nothing more about people than they already know, you’ve let your audience down." ~ Orson Scott Card

There are dynamic & round characters. Difference between the two is while the former change fundamentally by the end of a story, the latter may not necessarily change but go thru series of personality swings. The swings are as a result of the many facets to their personality.
Note that not all round characters need to be dynamic. What is important is that your character must not remain the same throughout your story. Round characters must be multilayered - revealing one layer at a time to motivate or contradict themselves.

Characteristics of round characters:
1. Their challenges transform them
2. Have inconsistent personalities and traits
3. Change or un/learn something by the end of the story
4. Act in unexpected, convincing ways
To craft such a character, the author must deliberately plan it.
In your story you will have either round or flat characters. While the former are imperative and should be dimensional and fleshed out, the latter spell doom. Thus, no one needs flat characters for any reason. Development of round characters requires deliberate planning...
while flat characters indicate inadequate planning. Round characters should be able to surprise in a convincing way. Round characters have life within the pages of the book. They are complex, lifelike and unpredictable. Don't forget to make your characters multi-faceted...
