@dkundel @thsottiaux @dkundel I hate to keep bugging you but this really feels like Windows is being left behind & is quite frustrating. I know everyone is busy, but someone from the team finally responded & asked for logs & details which many folks provided and now haven’t heard a thing in 11 days.

@burkeholland @soikat Watch out. The lead maintainer is taking a break. Hasn’t been release in a couple years. Concerns about the future. Honestly I have tried them all and eventually settled back on Windows Terminal… until Ghostty releases on Windows at least!

@jullerino This sounds inline with rollout of subagents so I suspect people’s complaints and feeling of less usage the last week is due to subagents. They burn much faster.

@dkundel @thsottiaux FYI `iceweasel-oai` on gh has begun troubleshooting and posted on one of the gh issues so I am NOT saying this is no longer being investigated, but just providing an update in case it needs more eyes internally :-)

@dkundel @thsottiaux @dkundel if you need any further justification for escalation internally, more folks are starting to comment on these several similar Windows issues on GitHub. All similar sentiment to what I originally stated which is this makes Codex App on Windows (sandboxed) pretty unusable.

@dkundel @justinhedge btw, as an Electron app developer and someone experienced w/ the difficulty & annoyances w/ getting Electron apps built, delivered & auto-updated for Windows, have you considered direct delivery using Squirrel? @dkundel @justinhedge My Codex App for Windows still shows 25.313 from March 16th which means have not gotten the last three updates (based on changelog) for 317, 318 and latest 323. Is this expected @dkundel?

@thsottiaux It’s the opposite… I always HATED it. Put in Claude md to actively prevent it in the early days. Please do not add this to Codex… or if you do, a config with the default as off.

@dkundel have you gotten reports of subagents on Windows Codex App having issues with the apply_patch tool? Could this be a regression of the fix a couple updates ago for the main agent apply_patch issues on Windows?

@dkundel @embirico @ajambrosino @dkundel this is another user who just commented on another similar gh issue and kind of answers your question for why Codex is "not usable" with these apply_patch issue. It is a bit dramatic but essentially explains what I was trying to communicate as well.

@burkeholland I know the feeling... but then I spent some time teaching my brother to "vibe code" and it was amazing to see what he was able to do, but it was also eye opening to see what little pieces of knowledge I have from experience that make such a HUGE difference!
