The latest NieR Automata Famitsu feature has a dev interview between Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito.

They have a funny conversation about a NieR sequel and the 9th Anniversary's "to be continued..." message lol

Question: Will we be able to look forward to news about a NieR Automata sequel for the 10th Anniversary this year?

Saito: It would be nice if we could have some new developments.

Question: The 9th Anniversary livestream had the words "NieR: Automata to be continued..." I assume that means a "new development," but is it correct to say that NieR: Automata will be continuing...?

Saito: I was actually the one who proposed we add that. Although I don't know whether there will for sure be a sequel or not, I just really wanted them to add the "to be continued..." words in the 9th anniversary video.

Yoko Taro: Basically what that means is "we will continue to milk [NieR] to make money," I guess.

Saito: But "9th Anniversary" is an awkward number to end it at, so wouldn't you want it to continue up until the 10th Anniversary?!

They then go on to explain how the "NieR: COSMIC HORROR" ended up being an April Fools joke where they went back and forth on whether to say "Release Date Announced" or "Release Date Not Decided" since it's April Fool's and people might take it the wrong way LOL...
