Twenty-five years to the day after FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller ran through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel toward the World Trade Center, the 9/11 WTC steel traveled through that same tunnel.

Stephen had already finished his shift when he learned the towers had been struck. Unable to drive through the closed tunnel, he continued on foot toward Lower Manhattan, where he gave his life while helping others.

Retracing his path on September 11 brought the story at the heart of Tunnel to Towers back to where it began.

Please note the following changes to our hours of operation as we commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Thursday, September 10: The #911Museum will close at 3 p.m.

Friday, September 11: The #911Museum will remain closed to the public all day so that 9/11 families may visit privately. The #911Memorial will be open to the public from 3 p.m. – 12 a.m., with additional security measures in place: https://t.co/gywFXR77Nn.

Saturday, September 12: The #911Museum will be open 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. (last admission 5:30 p.m.)
