Anne and Rebecca Marshall were two of the first female performers on the British public stage. Anne was praised for her tragedy roles, Rebecca was known for playing the villainess. The sisters acted onstage together at least once,in a production of John Dryden's The Maiden Queen.

Thomas Killigrew was a dramatist and theatre manager at court of King Charles II, known for his wit and tenacity. Though born noble, he grew up volunteering as an extra (occasionally a 'devil') at The Red Bull Theatre so he could see plays for free!
Edward Kynaston was one of the great Restoration "boy players"- that is,a young male actor who played women onstage.
