I have always said two things.
1. I said I need to see evidence which can be used in a court of law. An affidavit by a convicted person who was a mastermind is something that I will consider as credible.
It seems Pauli was being given information from sources close to the case but we canโt just take someoneโs word for it we need credible evidence.
2. The framing of a scandal by ANC municipalities and with many ANC people involved as an EFF scandal was not genuine and or good journalism. How do you skip R2 billion to call the EFF VBS looters. At worst they took a bribe, they did not orchestrate the crime of fraud and or racketeering.
Finally I am saying that investigative journalism in SA is funny and inconsistent. They will hack into computers and potentially break the law to get Gupta information. But they will not care to know who donated to the CR17 campaign. They will not go to Dubai and ask Mustafa why he lied to Sky News that he declared the dollars but will check the EFF trash and store condoms.
They will tell us everything about digital vibes but very little about Phala Phala. Phala Phala was broken by IOL. A final example, the media somehow did not know that Glencore was corrupt in Africa but the Uk and US government investigated and found out. They didnโt know that the Rand was being manipulated until the UK and US government investigated.
This is not investigative journalism. It is weaponized media.
