With an unwavering commitment to maintaining high academic expectations and a safe, caring, and orderly learning environment, our Lions Roar with PRIDE!
5th grade's beginning of the year cup stacking challenge! We might be building with cups, but we're also building communication, cooperation, and collaboration skills that will help us all year long!
Did you know that the #1 way to get better at reading is.... to read! Students who read for 20 minutes a day are exposed to almost 2 million words a year and are more likely to read at or above grade level at the end of the year!
We've had several classes earn 15 compliment cards to celebrate their hat day! Congratulations to Ms. Craig, Ms. Martinez, Ms. Edmondson, Ms. Delvalle & Ms. Herrera's friends for displaying PRIDE (promoting kindness, respect, integrity, determination, excellence) every day!
Ms. Nikki, our amazing cafeteria manager, is offering special treats for Lions who learn their lunch number during the month of September! Shout out to these 3rd graders who accepted the challenge and learned their numbers by the 1st day of competition! Check out their pencils!
We are so proud & excited to welcome our newest Lions to Glenn! Starting Kindergarten can be exciting (and sometimes just a lit bit scary) , but these kindergartners are showing the whole school how it is done! It's going to be a great year & congratulations to the class of 2039!
Last night we were proud to welcome our new Lions to the Glenn family at our Kindergarten Open House and "Popsicles on the Playground" event! We'd like to thank all the family members, siblings & most importantly, students who came to play! Welcome to the Class of 2039!
Meet Prince! Prince is in 4th grade & he is excited to be back after a wonderful summer. He wants to get better at math & more fluent in his reading. He is super happy that Ms. Belote is his teacher. We're so happy you're back Prince and we can't wait to share this year with you!
Meet Lorena! Lorena is in 3rd grade this year, and her goals are to learn her times tables, read a ton of books, and pass her EOGs! You got this, Lorena and we can't wait to share the year ahead with you!
Tomorrow begins a new year & we couldn't be more excited! We want you to know you are amazing & important. You are leaders & explorers. You are creative & unique. You are scientists & mathematicians, readers & writers. But most importantly - you are loved.
It's Open House at Glenn, and what a marvelous way to start the year! We loved seeing all our families and hearing about their fantastic summers. It's a new year, a new start, and it's going to be fabulous! Welcome back, Lions - we missed you! Let's do this!
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. Today we say goodbye to Mr. Hunt. For 1,856 days he led Glenn with courage and commitment, passion and pride. There are a million little things and one big thing we will miss.
We visited Student U's summer session to see some former Lions & our talented team members on "loan" for the summer! This incredible program supports students & families from middle school to college. We are fortunate that many Glenn students have been accepted to the program!
100% of teachers believe Glenn is a "good place to work & learn" AND 97% of students believe it is a "good place to attend & learn!" Having a supportive & effective environment is one of the most important things we do. We are proud these responses are among the highest in NC!
Glenn made school history in 2026 with the highest ACCESS scores EVER! ACCESS is an assessment English Learners take every year. We are proud that more than 50% of our students speak a language other than English at home - including Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Arabic, and more!
This summer, we are excited to share just a few of Glenn's Celebrations! Glenn made school history in 2026 with the highest math, science, and reading proficiency scores EVER! We are so proud of every child, teacher, team member, and family member who helped achieve our goals!
We'd like to wish all our Glenn faculty, staff, families, partners & most importantly, STUDENTS an amazing start to the summer! Be safe, read lots of books, play outside, eat popsicles & HAVE FUN! We will miss you & we can't wait to see you in August. Have a wonderful break!
Get ready, get set, here I go! I'm ready to show you all I know. I've graduated Kindergarten & now I'm done! It's been lots & lots of fun! Get ready first grade, I'm on my way. I've graduated Kindergarten, Hip, Hip, Hooray! Congratulations Kindergarten Class of 2026!
It's Ms. Craig's annual Potato Olympics! 5th graders worked in teams to design their Potato Athletes and complete in challenges such as the Potato Shot Put, Potato Races, and more. We're not sure about you, but we find this all very a-peeling!
