Congratulations to Junior Shortstop Kira Bailey on an extraordinary season! With 76 stolen bases, Kira has etched her name atop the Gahanna record books and is now 3rd all-time in Single Season Stolen Bases in Ohio high school softball history. Her career total is 179 which ranks 5th All-time and 55 behind the All-Time leader Alexis Mack with 234!

Kira's speed is impressive, but it's her instincts, timing, and incredible IQ on the bases that truly sets her apart. Every time she gets on base, she creates pressure, chaos, and is an absolute game changer.

Adding to the accomplishment, Kira surpassed the previous school record of 75 held by her sister, Kirnan Bailey, who was one of this years top base stealers in college at the University of Dayton. (3rd in the NCAA)

For the past four seasons, our centerfielder has been the definition of what it means to wear the Gahanna Lincoln jersey. The stats speak for themselves, but anyone who has watched her compete knows her impact goes far beyond numbers.

“This is how I want to play.”
Tough. Relentless. Team-first. She’s the first player diving for balls others won’t chase, creating chaos on the bases, leading by example in every drill, and setting the tone for everyone around her. When younger players look for how to compete, they look at her. But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Leadership. Energy. Confidence. Accountability. Heart.

She’s helped continue the standard of Gahanna Lincoln Softball, and because of her, the program is stronger for the players who will come after her. One of the best to patrol centerfield COAST TO COAST!

Arguably the most feared 1/2 punch in the State! These two Beverly Bandit sisters have combined with their Gahanna Lion sisters to an impressive 23-5 record while being the leaders or amongst the leaders in most MaxPrep's hitting catagories in D1! In the Month of May,(7 games) Kira Bailey is 16/22 .727BA with 14 Runs scored and 29 Stolen Bases including 4 steals of home and Amira Evans has been equally impressive going 11/22 .500 with 3 2B, 2 HR, 14 runs scored, and 10 Stolen Bases. we often see disconnection from from softball players by prematurely bringing their arm up and over their head before their legs have a chance to get underneath and ride that momentum. Grace’s lower half is almost perfect, but when she takes her hand over her head she’s leaving that engine in favor of a push and chop. Not a good trade. In the second video we created a drill for her to help begin the process of changing that movement pattern. Great Work Grace!!!
