@DYL4NCARDW3LL Not higher than Jokic or Chet. Sengun is a notorious as a bad 2pt scorer. And AD, Embiid, and Bam are all on midrnage heavy diets unlike Raynaud.
@DYL4NCARDW3LL 60% 2pt is 43rd percentile amongst bigs and u just can’t be a good passer when ur <20 percentile potential ast, passing tovs, and at generating atr and 3pt looks.
Allat for a 23 year old rookie who doesn’t impact the offensive glass, doesn’t score efficiently from 2, isn’t a good passer, doesn’t generate FTs, doesn’t generate stocks, and is a free lick in the paint.
alright then:
just counting his rookie year, raynaud has already shown he’s a very polished scorer and is really able to get whatever he wants at the basket. after he started playing real minutes, he shot 60+% from the basket and was really efficient in almost every kind of shot he took.
he averaged 12.5/7.5/1.4 on the season with under 9 field goals attempted a game and with a very low usage percentage of 18.2%, much less than most other rookies in this class which he still was all rookie second (should’ve been first but wtv) and still was able to be very respectable.
when everything started clicking for him around mid february to the end of the season (was rookie of the month in march) he averaged 18/8.6/2/1.5 stocks on 60/44/80, fantastic efficiency as well as great numbers with a practically identical usage percentage. his 3 pointers started to hit just like in college where he was seen as a partial stretch 4/5 and everything was smooth and consistent for the rest of the season. he’s a 3 level scorer even if better in the paint, is a good playmaker and has made major strides in other things which i’ll touch on
the biggest flac against raynaud is his defense, which i get. the numbers don help him and i wont argue he’s a great defender by any means. he is NOT an “awful” defender either. he definitely is not as good as id like him to be, but he was the 8th highest center in the league in rim field goals defended with 6.4 a game, ABOVE players like rudy gobert. not saying that he’s anywhere close to that, but it shows he defends the rim at a high volume. if you watched the summer league the other day and continue to watch, you’ll see the strides he’s made on defense. he looked so much more physical and willing to make contact and, not on defense, he shot a lot more 3’s and worked on his shot and added a fadeaway jumper and spin around to his bag which he never really had done before. he also seems to be a much more physical rebounder than he was, although he was a good rebounder as a rookie. and he’s hungry for more, he had 20/12 that game and said he played awful ajd “knew he should’ve had like, 28 and 17” not to mention overseas for the french national team last week he had a 16 point double double, showing he can compete on any level
so please tell me, why is a stretch 4/5 who has shown he can drop 18/8 if not more on GREAT efficiency who continues to improve all aspects of his game and is hungry for more opportunity NOT a top player in his class?
