@SchlimmH @ruvalum @chucktowngent@JakeNomada My point is your laughing at me after proving your assumption wrong is weird. Especially for a well cultured individual such as yourself unless you use your travels as a way to feed a superiority complex which would explain the laughing.
@ruvalum @SchlimmH@chucktowngent@JakeNomada Language is part of culture but it doesn't define it. If I'm talking about Amaterasu in English, it's still Japanese culture I'm talking about.
@ruvalum @SchlimmH@chucktowngent@JakeNomada My problem seems to be what quantifies culture? When does an amalgamation become it's own entity? It seems to be speaking English gets rid of anything other than American in the culture and that doesn't make sense.
@SchlimmH @ruvalum @chucktowngent@JakeNomada So you laugh when you get proven wrong or are you laughing at me learning it? Almost like you're not as civilized as you claim throwing assumptions around like that.
And really? A hayseed with a silver tongue acting like he's traveled the world? Boy you living the dream.
@ruvalum @SchlimmH@chucktowngent@JakeNomada Well this is about culture so aside from language, explain to me the difference between the cultural dishes and music. I'll even settle for a link.
@SchlimmH @ruvalum @chucktowngent@JakeNomada Chinge tu pinche Madre. Mama la pinga pinche Gringo.
Don't ever assume shit, you're laughably wrong. I love it, I can hear the Amigos music while Henry from Nigeria is making a call in whatever tongue he uses.
@SchlimmH @ruvalum @chucktowngent@JakeNomada Hmm, when you go abroad, what do you do? Enjoy the food and music of the locals? I can travel from Honduras to Mexico to Vietnam to Atlanta to Vienna to Thailand in the span of 10 blocks. I can talk to them about their life too, what a concept.
Keep trying.
@SchlimmH @ruvalum @chucktowngent@JakeNomada I'll tell you first hand they all eat different. Then the music at La Poblanita is different than what I hear at Vietnam House and that's different from the music I hear at Big Mike's Soul Food likely different from Black Thai.
@SchlimmH @ruvalum @chucktowngent@JakeNomada You think immigration just stopped? You think the Amigos across the street are eating and listening to the same thing as my Nigerian neighbor and do you think any of them are listening to the same stuff as the quiet lady running the Vietnamese restaurant down the road?
@ruvalum @chucktowngent@SchlimmH@JakeNomada Also this says nothing of the first generation immigrants running 1 of the 7 restaurants in 3 blocks selling homemade empanadas or tamales or tongue. Or the immigrants selling pho. Or my Nigerian neighbor. All of them speak American English so what's your point?
