I don’t understand the correlation between film and age here but it is interesting that the older you get the more society expects you to treat your life like it’s meaningless and “over”.
@tigerZprincess This is not talked about enough. It’s not just that people have become unhinged by the discourse around her; I wouldn’t want my wedding to become a cultural spectacle where everyone wants a piece of it, either.
Thinking today about Taylor's post about Phoebe's Lost Weekend and her comments about trusting the listener with her art and I am starting to think that something may have been irrevocably broken with TTPD, the fan reaction and what it spawned.
@neodyn6@DiaryofJo Go reread my comment. At no point in my comment did I talk about myself. I said my SISTER. I know the song very well but I also primarily listen to country music.
@Valistryingg I’m actually convinced she’s gonna move this way going forward. Obviously, my hypothesis won’t be correct until we see another album, but she's really out here saying to be here for the music, not the tea about my relationship.
She’s enforcing boundaries, but I won’t know if my theory is right until more albums pass. I wouldn’t be surprised if love songs take on more of this approach over time. She said, “What you feed the Internet, it will kill.”She saying, "Be here for the music, not my marriage tea."
i think the issue some of you have with songs about travis is that you don’t like the simplicity of the feeling, she doesn’t have to convince herself that he loves her because she knows he does, she never called anyone the love of her life in her song before, until cleveland!
“You’re using nostalgia as a weapon to hurt yourself”- she’s literally speaking to the folkmorians in their language, and they still aren’t hearing her😭😭
#TSTLOASTheEncore is perfect because there is something for every type of fan
You like TTPD or 1989—> Patient Zero
You like Midnights—-> Pink Clouding
You like Folklore/Evermore—> Babylon
You like The Life of A Showgirl—> Cleveland!
cleveland! is some good old fashioned fun, and i love how the unspoken lines hold even more gravity as she compels the listener to fill in the blanks themselves. say them out loud, realize how we mistreat and dehumanize women. she’s clever with her call outs i love her
.@Bossward43 with some sound advice for the struggling Justin Herbert
"She's got her chi chi's out, she's cheering for you, but as soon as you start having a lack of success, she's gonna be outta there!!"

@CarineK And this is what chronically online young people can’t fathom. This was the norm back then. I own so many single CDs, and we used to line up at record stores in the mall to get them.
