🇬🇷 🇺🇸 Defence Minister Nikos Dendias met with a U.S. Congressional delegation (CODEL) led by Roger Wicker during its visit to Athens.
During the meeting, Dendias raised the issue of Turkey's potential acquisition of F-35 fighter jets and its implications for security and stability across the wider region.
He also briefed the delegation on the current security situation in the Southeastern Mediterranean and the implementation of Greece's Agenda 2030 defence modernization plan.
The discussions concluded with both sides exploring ways to further strengthen the strategic defence partnership between Greece and the United States amid growing regional challenges and tensions.
Friendly reminder: Christopher Nolan's costume designer contacted the renowned Greek metal artist @HellenicArmors , known as "the modern Hephaestus", who creates the historically accurate armor often seen online. Unfortunately, according to Demetrios, it didn't work out.
🚨TURKEY’S MACHO BLUFF COLLAPSES: THE S400 SURRENDER🚨
After years of chest-thumping defiance and irreversible tough talk, Erdogan is now desperately trying to offload the Russian S400 systems that cost his country $2.5bln
Erdogan’s actions cost Turkey more though:
▪️CAATSA sanctions
▪️Kicked out of the F-35 program
▪️Turkish Lira cratered from 4 to 47 against the USD amid the self-inflicted chaos
Latest reports confirm Turkey is negotiating to sell or transfer the S400s to a Gulf country most probably the UAE or Qatar, just to remove the CAATSA roadblock and crawl back toward the F35 program which still won’t be enough.
This isn’t strength, this is weakness and desperation after all the macho posturing.
Trump clearly applied the pressure behind closed doors and Erdogan folded.
The damage is already done and much of it is permanent:
▪️Billions wasted on a system Turkey now wants to dump
▪️Years of lost F35 integration, pilot training and Turkish industry workshare gone forever
▪️Deepened isolation from NATO’s most advanced defense ecosystem
▪️Credibility shredded, you just can’t brand yourself as “independent” and then beg to undo the very move that defined your so called resistance.
Big talk has a steep price tag Mr @RTErdogan, your country just paid it in full and the bill keeps arriving. You played a high stakes game of chicken with the United States and NATO, you blinked hard.
The S400 era is ending the only way it could, in humiliating retreat. Turkey didn’t win its “strategic autonomy”, it just proved how expensive performative defiance really is.
Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs, @HakanFidan, can be very entertaining, especially when he thinks that he is addressing five-years-old.
This is the very same Hakan Fidan that repeatedly uttered that "Israel is not just Turkey's problem. It is the world's problem", and that "Israel is a burden that humanity can no longer bear".
It is the same Hakan Fidan whose President, @RTErdogan, repeatedly stated that "Jerusalem is our city", and "May Allah destroy and devastate Zionist Israel".
No different than Erdogan, Hakan Fidan maintained that Turkey does not view Hamas as a terrorist organization; at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hamas delegations regularly come and go.
If Hakan Fidan had any scruples, he should have admitted the obvious: Turkey is a supporter, enabler, and sponsor of Islamism and Jihadism.

"America is back and more respected than ever before" - Hm, for, and in essence, supporting @RTErdogan, an islamist, a jihadist, a genocider?
I am not anti-American. On the contrary!
I come from a country, Cyprus, that has been partly occupied by Turkey for 52 years, its occupied area ethnically cleansed.
I come from a region that has had enough of them islamist (islamist = jihadist) monsters.
I can understand that it is difficult to impossible for someone that lives across the Atlantic to realize the torment and the ordeal the victims of the jihadist scam undergo, despite President Trump's yesterday remarks when he was referring to the Iranian jihadist scam.[https://t.co/twtdHPpuOy]
A jihadist President Trump is a jihadist, whether Iranian or Turkish, Qatari or Saudi, will always be a jihadist, will always be scam and he/she will always be anti-American.
Erdogan is a jihadist. A self-declared jihadist.

@Reuters Turkey is NATO’s weakest link.
The S-400 is only the tip of the iceberg. Deepening defense cooperation with China, the pursuit of Chinese ballistic missile know-how, and Chinese 5G networks create unacceptable security risks.

ANALYSIS | Savvas Kalenteridis: Greece at a Critical Geopolitical Crossroads
Greece faces a critical geopolitical crossroads, as ongoing tensions with Turkey, the enduring 1995 casus belli, and shifting NATO priorities continue to shape security dynamics in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Kalenteridis argues that while Turkey has pursued a consistent, long-term strategy to expand its regional influence, Greece must strengthen its deterrence through military modernization, economic resilience, diplomacy, and strategic partnerships.
He further stresses that Athens should condition any progress in Turkey-EU relations on the withdrawal of the casus belli threat, respect for international law, and an end to revisionist rhetoric.
According to Kalenteridis, lasting security depends not only on military capability, but on a coherent national strategy capable of adapting to an increasingly volatile geopolitical environment.
> Christopher Nolan chose a latino who said "only latinos should be playing latino", to play the role of the old man Greek islander Eumaeus.
> On the right: a random Greek islander.
Zero Greeks playing in "The oDEIssey". Nolan is an anti-Greek racist.
