@AndraeAlexej@Romazehari Considering how often men attack other men solely through what they hold or own, I would argue we have been trained to seek solely external validation and when other men or anyone doesn’t require it, we try and tear them down. Consider how people use the term “cringe”
@Romazehari The way people use the term cringe as a way to reduce people being their authentic self, I’d say it’s not exclusive to men, but men har possibly been trained more than most in recent years to get ALL their self worth from external sources as a way to break behavioral trends
@_nomadic_soul Being so caught in your own hate and headspace you don’t allow yourself the ability to relax isn’t the same as others keeping you from relaxing, you just removed your own agency and cried over the loss of it, despite you taking it away from yourself
@hell_line0 Out of curiosity, when in your life did you learn this lesson or piece this belief together? I’m not looking to invalidate you, I want to to understand this better
@Solyricon They may feel they do not want to keep reinforcing the concept that you need external validation from others online when they feel they were allowed to approach specifically because of that tactic. It removes what they perceive is access to competition by removing the temptation
@0xdaedalu5@DKeerty13403@hell_line0 She’s using a scapegoat, one that is almost universally panned in today’s age, while simultaneously making herself identical to that scapegoat. I think she’s missing some key component of empathy, self awareness, or honesty
@hell_line0 Sounds like your friend acts like she would say a “man” does, by her own admission. Also, not the great parts we are trying to draw out of more people and men, but the behaviors we actually want to see LESS of across the board. If she wants empathy towards men, she can start here
@Uche_Gloriaa I’d argue it’s because most of society wants to dish consequences for failure, but almost nobody wants to work with the people who need to change to fix the problem, certainly not for free.
@bri_br4t I’m not even talking sexual acknowledgment, just baseline human empathy. We have 100% made care a paid for sector. Can’t get anyone of care without getting something in value first, we all have made this culture, men and women alike.
@bri_br4t If nobody gives me milk, I need to buy it. If society constantly removes acknowledgement or validation to harm someone, they will buy it, or steal it when it’s desperate enough time for it. Otherwise, you have the other hand, 80% of suicide in the US is men.
@bri_br4t@NikoBonelli Sure, you can weld great abilities to craft behaviors when you make others dependent of acknowledgment, but you also create situations where they are so desperate for it with no direction or demonstration of how to fix it and they steal it or buy it, or kill themselves
@bri_br4t@NikoBonelli It’s created in part because men have had their worth and self being reduced to almost wholly external validation. You can’t spend years or decades programming men to believe everyone except them can determine their worth and then expect them to not be needy messes
@ilovesnow248@TheEcho13 I don’t want to seem disingenuous so I’ll say it outright, if ANYONE figured out the secret to life, we would know it. Hell, I’d settle for the REASON for living, let alone the secret to achieving that goal.
@Thebiglade 8/10 times we are talking about a man here, which is wild because 80% of suicides are men. Solely tying another’s value to how others perceive them is a recipe for self destruction
@Thebiglade Don’t ever make it about how it impacts others, only them. You can’t reasonably get someone to care for themselves at their expense when you say it’s strictly for others
