This day in history, 6 June 1944, #DDay.
Over 156,000 Allied troops landed in Normandy, including thousands of British troops beginning the liberation of Europe.
Today, the GMFRS Armed Forces Network remembers their courage, sacrifice and service.
Lest we forget. #DDAY82
82 years on from the Normandy landings, we reflect on the thousands of British, Commonwealth and Allied forces who lost their lives for the liberation of Western Europe.
We will remember them.

Today marks 15 years since the end of Operation TELIC in Iraq.
We honour the UK Armed Forces personnel who served between 2003 and 2011, and we remember the 179 who lost their lives.
Today, veterans and their families gather at the @Nat_Mem_Arb to pay tribute.
Today we think of everyone affected by the attack in Manchester on the night of the 22nd May 2017, and particularly the families who lost loved-ones, knowing that every single day of the nine years since has been hard for them.
We are still at their side and always will be. 🐝
To the thousands who served in Iraq: today, we remember your courage.
Marking 15 years since the end of Operation TELIC, we reflect on the extreme conditions you faced and the sacrifices made by you and your families.
We will never forget the 179 personnel who did not return.
With 50 days to go until Armed Forces Day, is your local event registered? 👇

April is Limb Loss & Limb Difference Awareness Month.
Andy Reid MBE, from St Helens, lost both his legs and an arm after stepping on an improvised explosive device while serving with The Yorkshire Regiment in Afghanistan.
Now, the father of two is gearing up for the marathon on Sunday 26th April, to show what disabled and injured veterans can achieve. Andy is raising money for the Army Benevolent Fund and his own charity, Standing Tall Foundation.
