@B_Dog_33_@Polymarket A legislature is closer to the people than a court. The court is enforcing the will of old dead people over the needs and desires of the living. Democracy is for the living.
@ToonHive@arachnidRay Good shows should be able to cause a strong emotional response. This show put me in a deep depressive episode for a couple of weeks before I realized I had diagnosable depression. Fortunately that was just once. It will always be one of my favorites.
@SpadeCrux@yuriautism Because since Musk took over, more and more notifications are from the algorithm. I get all sorts of stuff from accounts I'd rather block.
@isalemhex Take your time. It has been what, a year? What's another couple hours? That you were coming back at all was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. We can all be patient.
@DrRogerH1@ericareport There shouldn't be a legal way to make money like that. The Emoluments Clause in the Constitution should cover everything he could have done to earn that.
@Amer1can_Barbie@ABC It must suck to be so self centered that you can't take a simple precaution to keep others safe. You might say you care about others but actions are more important than words and wearing a mask is a really easy action that actually does something.
@twisted_shirts@JosephTamone@BlackKnight10k I spent the whole day watching it on TV as it happened. Sure, there was probably a delay of a few seconds. That's how live TV works.
@OccupyDemocrats The shock isn't that Manchin was against this, it was that so many Democrats were for it. Democrats talk pro labor but rarely act like it. That they're even discussing this issue and not leaving it to the union is anti-labor. They're going to impose a deal on the workers.
@joncoopertweets Public lands should be accessible to everyone, not just those who served or lost someone or who can afford tickets. The best thing about this is how it highlights how access to the parks is a privilege, not a right. Access to nature should not be restricted by class.
@ASonsPodcast@oldman4868@Timcast When we say America isn't a free country, this is what we mean. You're legally free to do a lot. You're just unlikely to have the financial security to actually do most of them. A freedom you can't exercise, you don't have. This is a systemic problem more than an individual one.
@ASonsPodcast@oldman4868@Timcast You don't need millions of dollars. You need the freedom to lose your home. You need the freedom to take care of medical issues without worrying about how you're going to pay for it. Starting a business often means giving up the financial security that someone with a family needs
