The New York Times on Trump dismissing the affordable housing bill as “a big yawn” —
The disdainful remarks for a bill meant to alleviate Americans’ economic struggles are the latest in a series of similar comments that have an ever growing number of Republicans freaking out ahead of the midterms. “It’s a yawn” follows such observations as “I don’t care about the midterms,” “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation” and “I love the inflation.”
________
You’ve heard over and over that when someone shows you who they are, believe them. Well, Trump has shown repeatedly that he’s totally focused on enhancing the finances of himself and his family and could give a rat’s ass about your financial struggles.
The most glaring example is the nearly 9 billion dollars of government funds going to support businesses in which the Trumps are investors. That’s an amount equal to all of the federal government funds expended on helping Western North Carolina recover from Hurricane Helene. And you’ll recall that Trump stood in Swannanoa after the storm and promised that he would be with us every step of the way and build back bigger, better, and more beautiful.
Instead of helping Western North Carolinians rebuild their homes, their lives, and their businesses, Trump has focused tirelessly on helping himself. He’s spent nearly a billion dollars on his 747 sky palace that he will take with him when he leaves office, a half-billion dollars on his ballroom, and millions of dollars on gold plating statues and jetting around to his luxury resorts to play golf . . . and you’re paying for it.
It’s definitely the Golden Age for Donald Trump and the billionaire oligarchs who are living the high life. It’s not so golden for working class Americans. For them, the affordability challenges they’re facing day in and day out are very real and very important.
So when Trump tells you that to him the economic anxiety of ordinary Americans is “unimportant” and “a big yawn,” believe him.
Here’s an in-depth New York Times article on how Trump, his family, and his cronies are abusing their government power to line their pockets and using billions of your tax dollars to facilitate their grifting. Note that the $8.9 billion in federal money going to the 14 Trump and Lutnick companies is equal to the entire amount of federal assistance Western North Carolina has received for Hurricane Helene recovery.
Rampant corruption in plain sight . . . and Republicans see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil.
Here’s an excerpt from the article and a free link to the entire piece:
“Ahead of the deal, the Trump administration approved preliminary applications for as much as $1.6 billion in federal financing for the American company, now called Kaz Resources, which plans to break ground on the project in rural Kazakhstan.
It was not only Mr. Trump and Mr. Lutnick who saw an opportunity.
Their sons were soon doing business with partners in a deal that their fathers were negotiating, continuing a pattern of self-enrichment in the second Trump administration that has few precedents in American history.”
. . . . .
“One or both families have financial ties to at least 14 companies that are actively working with the federal government on critical mining deals, including the Kazakhstan project, according to federal filings examined by The New York Times.
All 14 of these companies have either benefited directly from offers of financial assistance from the Trump administration, or have pending permit applications before the Commerce Department, which Mr. Lutnick oversees, The Times found. The total amount of federal funding that the Trump administration has provided or is considering providing to the companies exceeds $8.9 billion, according to public statements by the companies and federal government.”

Stop trying to justify your warped ideology by attaching non-related events to Trump's admin.
Your revolution is DoA because Satan has lost.
President Biden has been asked to pick Jack Smith for the federal court so Trump can't fire him
Jack Smith can't be fired by Trump as a federal Judge.

An important step.
All parties to the Rome Statute, International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ), including Australia, must abide by these rulings and reinforce the importance of a world where all people can be justifiably confident in the equal application of international law.
And all States are required under international law to take action.
