As bad as they paint Diddy today, the man was once good to several people. He helped many African Americans and people of other races succeed in the entertainment industry. Where are those people he helped? Why are they not speaking up? All his friends have run for cover, and I feel for him.

In good times and bad times, be a friend to your friends. Do not defend evil. But it is also evil to abandon a man when he is down and leave him so isolated and at the mercy of the system. And we, as Black people, are very good at this. We know how to cooperate to bring down our own.

And for his community to completely forget whatever good he may have once done and make his life all about his current alleged crimes creates an imbalance. Nobody is totally good or bad. Most people, including you reading this, will likely fall somewhere in the middle.

I have said this before, and those who are my true followers will attest that I said this. If your siblings or friends are accused of a crime, stand by them, but do not stand by their crime. Be with them. Be seen with them. Provide them with moral, emotional and financial support to the extent you can.

Ensure that they do not feel suicidal because they have been left all alone during their trial. If they are guilty, condemn and reject their actions. But never, ever reject your flesh and blood or a friend who was there for you during your time of need.
