Yesterday morning’s attack on worshippers celebrating the holy day of Yom Kippur is a tragedy and a terrible reminder of where hate leads. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the victims and with Manchester’s Jewish community. Hate must not win.
[1/8] Mike Haines statement. 13/09/2014.
“It is ten years to the day since my brother David was murdered in the most horrific circumstances, his beheading televised and broadcast for the world to see, sparing no time for our family to process our grief privately.”
@horton_official Concerning. Have you looked at the Red Sea and Rubber yet Helena?
(75% of UK end-of-life tyres were going to India before Red Sea attacks ...)
Great to see the success @NooralhaqNasimi and the @A_CAA's work now being offered in Kent with the launch of this integration project. Building society and promoting British values 👏👏
I’m really pleased to announce the launch of the Kent Integration Project at the Maidstone Community Support Centre. Special thanks to Maidstone Mayor Gordon Newton, and Councillors Stuart Jeffrey and Maureen Cleator.
Join ACAA at its Birmingham branch tomorrow for the launch of its Women’s Empowerment project. After many years of this project’s success in London, now is the time to expand operations to Birmingham. We hope to see you there.
I'm really pleased to announce the launch of the Kent Integration Project at the Maidstone Community Support Centre. Special thanks to Maidstone Mayor Gordon Newton, and Cllr Jeffrey and Cllr Cleator. I look forward to seeing this project go from strength to strength. @A_CAA
Extremist ideologies and those who promote them drive people to the polars by removing nuance and dismissing those who hold alternative views. More important than ever we remind ourselves of this and reject the extremists' premises. #people#rejecthate
In London today at a Civil Society Organisation conference on countering extremism. Incredibly topical as impact of events in Middle East reverberate in the UK. Proud to be a part of a network dedicated to uniting society. #GAUontheroad#counterextremism#rejecthatred
Giles moderates the first panel, which features Alexander Gilder, Lecturer in International Law and Security at Reading University, and Abdul Khoram, former Afghanistan military general.
Our thoughts are with Jim Foley and his family. He was an American journalist whose life was taken as an act of hatred by terrorists. He was a fellow hostage of my brother, and we remember him as brave and innocent. #victimsofterrorism#GAUremembers
Feeling a bit windswept but glad I managed to lend my support to @travisfrain and the other victims of the Westminster Bridge attack that happens six years ago today. These commemorations are so important!
War is transformational in every way and among the destruction over the last year, it will be the personal and mental scars that will be hardest to overcome. #UkraineWarAnniversary#GAUremembers#standwithukraine
Honoured to write for @JewishChron ahead of #HolocaustMemorialDay tomorrow, thinking about this year’s theme ‘Ordinary People’. My brother was an ordinary man killed by terrorists and we as ordinary people can do our bit to reject hate and discrimination. https://t.co/91isazC3Sh
I'll be on @VoiceOfIslamUK radio tomorrow at 4pm on #InternationalToleranceDay. Since my brother died at the hands of terrorism in 2014, I have dedicated my life to reaching young people to spread messages of kindness and understanding #rejecthate
Today is Remembrance Day; we unite across faiths, cultures and backgrounds to remember the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces community from Britain and the Commonwealth.
I think it is interesting that online ERWT content, often consumed by the young, has not led to rise in completed terrorist attacks in the UK. The position in the US is of course very very different .../ends.
This far-right terror incident is significant and disturbing. It evidences rising extremist narratives and their violent potential. We must strive to build tolerance and understanding through education to stamp out these hateful ideologies. https://t.co/EXS1i14yxx @bbceducation
Simply wrong. A narrative catered to his audience, at a cost of being completely detached from reality.
Britain is the most successful multiracial democracy on earth and proud of this historic achievement.
