@emollick I think you're glossing over how impactful market forces are in mitigating bad impact. The primary reason AI is getting better and more useful, is that's what the marketplace desires. Those desires might not always align with democracy, but it's a powerful incentive.

@WesRoth Unless AI is a replacement technology instead of just augmentation. But currently AI doesn't replace devs, which is why demand is increasing.

@WesRoth I've come to the realization recently that Jevons Paradox applies to Labor too. As labor becomes more efficient the more demand goes up. The exception is in markets that are inelastic (relatively fixed demand). Which ironically means plumbers might be more at risk than devs.

@amitisinvesting Margin debt might be at all time high but so is the market. If you adjust margin debt to be % of stock market (Wilshire 5000 in graph), it's at historic low.
It perfectly reasonable that margin $ are higher when total $ in market is higher
