Did Turks Commit Genocide. or did The Greeks ?
Major Atrocities Against Turks in the Balkans (1912–1913)
1. Mass violence against Ottoman Muslim civilians
Academic research shows that Bulgarian, Serbian, and Greek forces carried out systematic violence against Muslim civilians, including Turks, during the Balkan Wars. This included:
Massacres of unarmed civilians
Torture and beatings
Forced conversions
Widespread arson and destruction of Muslim villages
Indiscriminate killings of non‑combatants
These actions were part of a broader campaign to expel Ottoman Muslims from newly occupied territories.
---
Expulsion and forced migration of Ottoman Muslims
Large numbers of Ottoman Muslims—overwhelmingly Turks—were driven from their homes as Balkan armies advanced. Many were left defenseless because the Ottoman military was unable to evacuate civilians.
This resulted in:
Massive refugee flows toward Istanbul and Anatolia
Deaths from exposure, hunger, and attacks during flight
Permanent demographic transformation of the Balkans
-----
Siege of Edirne (Adrianople) and surrounding atrocities
During the Bulgarian siege of Edirne (1912–1913), Muslim civilians suffered heavily due to:
Starvation
Bombardment
Breakdown of order
Although the siege was a military operation, the civilian population—mostly Turks—experienced severe suffering.
Reports from the period describe:
Burning of Turkish villages
Looting of property
These atrocities occurred before and during WWI, as part of the collapse of Ottoman rule in Europe. The violence was not isolated but part of a broader pattern of nationalist expansion by Balkan states, often targeting Muslim/Turkish populations.
By the end of the First Balkan War, the Ottoman Empire had lost 83% of its European territory and 69% of its European population, most of whom were Muslims (primarily Turks).
This dramatic loss was accompanied by mass killings and expulsions.

When we look at approximately 2,176 years of Greek history, we can see that Greece spent long periods under the rule of various empires and states.

You Greeks lived under the rule of other states and empires for more than 2,074 years. Rather than being an independent sovereign state, for most of your history you essentially existed as a province under foreign rule, and until 1920 you lived under our rule for 490 years.
When we said that these lands have belonged to the Turks for thousands of years, we were not speaking without evidence. Today, some of these claims are beginning to be supported by scientific findings. During metro excavations in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, 5,500-year-old kurgan-type burial mounds associated with Turkic steppe traditions were discovered. Turks existed 5,500 years ago. This is also mentioned in Chinese written sources. However, 5,500 years ago, there was no Greece.
The real question is this:
How did you Greeks manage to remain Greek after living under the rule of other nations for more than 2,070 years? (And I am not even including the earlier periods of Persian domination.)
More than half of the Greek population is of Karaman Turk origin. Look it up. If that is the case, what is the likelihood that the remaining 5–6 million people are ethnically Greek?
