Iranian media claims U.S.-backed plan for Syrian intervention against Hezbollah blocked
Iranian state-affiliated media has reported that a U.S.-encouraged plan for Syrian forces to intervene against Hezbollah in Lebanon has been blocked.
According to the reports, the UAE was prepared to finance the operation, including fighter salaries and combat costs, while Saudi Arabia was open to steps that could weaken Hezbollah without broader escalation. Qatar and Iraq reportedly opposed the idea.
Iran is said to have issued firm warnings to Damascus (via Turkey) and to Ankara, Baghdad, Doha, and Riyadh, stating that any Syrian military move against Hezbollah would trigger a wider regional confrontation centered on Syria. Tehran allegedly threatened missile strikes on more than 100 strategic targets inside Syria, including the presidential palace.
The claims remain unverified by independent reporting and originate from sources aligned with Iran and Hezbollah. No official confirmation from the governments involved has been issued.

Several people are feared dead, while at least 30 others are missing after suspected armed Fulani herdsmen launched a fresh attack on Agadagba community in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.
An eyewitness narrated how the Fulani herdsmen came back in large numbers and started shooting everywhere. People ran in different directions to save their lives. Many have been killed, while about 30 people are still missing. We don’t know whether they are alive or dead because many fled into the bush,” the resident said.

🚨 BREAKING:
Niger Governor Sacks All Fulani District Heads, Replaces with Indigenous Nupe Chiefs
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has sacked all Fulani district heads, known as Ardos, replacing them with indigenous Nupe Chiefs in a historic move aimed at curbing kidnapping, violence, and terrorism. The decision effectively ends centuries of Fulani domination over indigenous people in the state, marking a significant shift in the region's political and traditional landscape.
The governor cited the rising cases of kidnapping, land grabbing, destruction of farmlands, and the invitation by local Fulani of other Fulani from outside the country to help them in sustained conflicts with indigenous people as reasons for the decision. He has replaced them with village chiefs or re-designated roles such as Hakimi to strengthen local indigenous authority and improve security in the state.
Me - A welcome development,

MONDAY MUSINGS
THE DEADLIEST WEAPON OF WAR WAS NOT THE GUN—IT WAS PROPAGANDA
From Okokon Ndem to the Digital Age: Why Ndigbo Must Never Again Become Victims of Manufactured Narratives
History is an uncompromising teacher. Whenever truth is sacrificed on the altar of propaganda, generations inevitably pay the price. The greatest tragedy is not merely that history repeats itself, but that mankind often refuses to learn from its most painful lessons.
For every Igbo family that witnessed or inherited the painful memories of the Nigerian Civil War (1967–1970), one name remains inseparable from the history of that conflict—Okokon Ndem, the unforgettable voice of Radio Biafra. Gifted with remarkable eloquence and extraordinary oratory, his broadcasts became the heartbeat of Biafra’s wartime information campaign. Through emotionally charged commentaries and psychological messaging, he inspired millions and projected unwavering confidence in the Biafran cause. Yet, like virtually every wartime broadcaster in history, his broadcasts also demonstrated the immense power of propaganda and disinformation in shaping public perception during armed conflict.
Wars are fought not only with bullets, but also with narratives. Temporary emotional victories achieved through propaganda can never substitute for objective reality. History repeatedly reminds us that when comforting falsehoods replace uncomfortable truths, the human cost is often devastating.
Sadly, decades after the guns fell silent, one cannot ignore the disturbing similarities in portions of today’s self-determination discourse. Social media has given every individual a microphone, but it has also given falsehood an unprecedented audience. Individuals with little knowledge of strategy or leadership routinely manufacture sensational claims, imaginary victories and unverifiable narratives, while vulnerable people consume them without critical examination.
The tragedy is not simply that lies are told; it is that they are believed.
Thousands of lives have been lost, communities traumatized, businesses destroyed and economic activities crippled because many chose emotion over reason and propaganda over truth. Yet, despite these undeniable realities, there are still professional propagandists and their loyal apologists who continue to market deception as patriotism.
No cause, however noble or divinely inspired, can succeed if it is built upon manipulation and misinformation. Truth is not an obstacle to any genuine struggle; it is its strongest foundation.
It is therefore encouraging that recent developments, which have brought about a change in the status quo and a renewed direction under the leadership of the Directorate of State (DOS), led by Mazi Chika Edoziem, have completely departed from the hitherto prevailing pattern of misinformation, propaganda and deception. The current leadership has placed greater emphasis on discipline, strategic coordination, responsible leadership and the pursuit of non-violent mechanisms of agitation, thereby restoring confidence in a cause that must always be anchored on truth rather than manipulation.
If the aspiration for self-determination is genuinely rooted in justice, equity and the collective welfare of our people, then transparency, honesty and accountability must remain non-negotiable guiding principles. This is particularly so because the right to self-determination is an inalienable and sacrosanct right, firmly recognised and protected under applicable international law as well as the extant domestic legal framework.
This is the defining moment for Ndigbo to rise above raw emotions, empty slogans and destructive rhetoric; to reject every narrative that glorifies bloodshed, division and needless sacrifice; and to wholeheartedly embrace a peaceful, disciplined and people-centred approach anchored on the prevailing human-faced vision of the project. The future of our people will be secured not through the celebration of conflict, but through wisdom, strategic leadership, truth and an unwavering commitment to the preservation of human life and dignity.
The most devastating consequence of propaganda is not merely the distortion of facts, it is the gradual destruction of independent judgment. Once a people lose the ability to distinguish truth from carefully manufactured falsehoods, they surrender the very instrument required for their progress.
History should not become a cycle we repeatedly relive. The painful lessons of the Civil War should inspire wisdom, not repetition. Our future will never be secured by the loudest voices on social media, but by leaders and followers who possess the courage to confront reality, the humility to learn from history and the integrity to speak the truth, even when it is inconvenient.
Only then can we honour the sacrifices of yesterday while safeguarding the destiny of tomorrow.

Security Alert !
Information we have indicates that more than 18 buses filled with the Nigerian army have just arrived in Abakaliki; their purpose is still unclear, but we advise all IPOB/ESN members to remain extremely watchful. Be aware of your surroundings to avoid becoming a target of their presence and kidnapping. Officers of IPOB, please be aware.
IPOB Asia Chapters Pledge Unwavering Loyalty to Directorate of State Led by Chika Edoziem Amid Leadership Tensions
In a significant show of solidarity, IPOB (Indigenous People of Biafra) family chapters across multiple Asian countries have publicly affirmed their loyalty and support to the Directorate of State (DOS), headed by Mazi Chika Edoziem.
The listed chapters include:
- IPOB Japan
- IPOB South Korea
- IPOB Cambodia
- IPOB Taiwan
- IPOB Malaysia
- IPOB Vietnam
- IPOB India
- IPOB Hong Kong
- IPOB China
- IPOB Indonesia
- IPOB Philippines
- IPOB Sri Lanka
These groups have collectively declared “unalloyed support” to the current DOS leadership structure under Edoziem. The announcement highlights the growing organizational presence of IPOB in the Asian diaspora, where Biafran communities continue to mobilize for the self-determination cause.
Mazi Chika Edoziem has served as Head of the Directorate of State, the administrative arm of IPOB, since his appointment in 2022 to oversee operations during the continued detention of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The DOS is positioned as the highest decision-making body in the movement’s institutional framework while Kanu remains in custody.
The Asian IPOB families represent a diverse and strategically important segment of the global Biafran diaspora. From East Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong) to Southeast Asia (Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines) and South Asia (India, Sri Lanka), these chapters have engaged in advocacy, awareness campaigns, and community organizing.
Their joint declaration underscores themes of unity and loyalty to the DOS, signaling that key overseas structures remain aligned with Edoziem’s leadership amid broader debates within the movement. IPOB Asia platforms have historically served as key hubs for Biafra.
Burkina Faso Just Passed a Law Requiring State Certification for Every Imam and Pastor in the Country.
Burkina Faso's transitional legislative assembly has adopted a sweeping new law on religious freedoms, six chapters and over one hundred articles long. At the center of it is a new national body that will train, certify and monitor religious leaders across the country. Anyone wanting to lead a mosque, church or other place of worship will need state recognized qualifications to do it.
The law also requires every religious association to join a recognized umbrella organization sanctioned by the state, bans public officials from any proselytizing while on duty, and criminalizes religious hate speech with penalties up to seven years in prison and fines reaching 10 million CFA francs.
Authorities say this is not an attack on any faith. The stated goal is reducing what they call deviations in religious practice, reinforcing the country's secular constitution, and lowering religious tensions in a nation already fighting an active insurgency.
Not everyone is convinced. The draft law sparked anger, particularly among Sunni Muslims, who see it as government overreach into religious life. Tensions boiled over in May when authorities shut down Ouagadougou's Grand Mosque after protests broke out over the arrest of its imam, who had publicly criticized the bill before it passed.
The law still needs Traoré's signature and official publication before it takes effect.
Some say this is the state protecting unity in a country under siege, but others believe the state is oppressing its people. What do you make of this development?

If someone claims that the 2nd DOS was dissolved, not to mention the 3rd DOS administration, inform them that they are a pathological liars .
If you all can recall that UCHE MEFOR served as the deputy leader at that time and he was part of the DOS , Mazi Chika Edoziem held the position of Secretary of the DOS, and Mazi Chukwudi Ofoma was present, along with Nnennaya Anya .
The 2nd DOS was not dissolved; instead, some DOS members were ousted due to their disagreement with MNK at that time which does not mean the administrative body of IPOB (DOS ) was dissolved.
Understand this and end all these falsehoods that have caused this struggle to go in circles for the past decade. I’m unsure why certain drug users and selfish and greedy individuals in IPOB fail to recall their own historical past.
In my upcoming broadcast, I will reveal and rectify all these falsehoods and misleading information. They are creating all these falsehoods for the naive individuals.
That’s the reason they aim to get rid of anyone familiar with the history of IPOB/ESN, ensuring they alone can spread falsehoods about the sacrifices made by thousands of IPOB/ESN members who have paid dearly with their lives.

IPOB Ghana Chapter Issues Strong Rebuttal Against Nnamdi Kanu’s Alleged Dissolution of Directorate of State https://t.co/D2XWgqptQm
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Ghana has strongly rejected Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s recent announcement dissolving the Directorate of State (DOS) and inaugurating a administration led by Mazi Chris Nwaogu.
In an official External Memo dated 19th June 2026, signed by National Coordinator Mazi Uyi Edos, IPOB Ghana declared that it does not recognize any “Supreme Leader” position and affirmed that no individual, including Kanu, has the unilateral authority to dissolve the DOS the apex administrative organ of the movement.
The chapter reiterated its recognition of the leadership of Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem as Head of the Directorate of State and urged all Biafrans to rely only on official channels: Radio Biafra, Biafra Television, and memos signed by Edoziem or DOS Press Secretary Dr. C. Okadigbo.
