Yeah unfortunately 10 years ago isn’t today, the series died for a decade because of it. EA knows the math, and it doesn’t work and will not work. $69.99 versus the hundreds of millions they bring in on CUT. Franchise mode also dies when you are recruiting Jane Doe instead of Cam Coleman.

Sorry but we will never agree. You can’t possibly argue that a $69.99 purchase outweighs a $69.99 plus multiple others. Micro transactions are the way of the industry and game makers will not create games at a AAA scale of which cannot be monetized beyond the initial purchase and nobody will want to play a generic team just because it has an A&M logo attached to the team.

Uh people definitely care. Myself and others included would not play the game anymore. Ultimate team is the main source of revenue for them and that goes away with generic players. Nobody is playing a build your own team game mode with nobodies, the throwback players, moments, sets and so forth are what makes it what it is. They’d be done in a year without it.
