What many have overlooked is that Nigel has the opportunity to massively increase his vote share.
A very high margin is difficult to overturn, should another by-election be triggered in the future.
@tzippele@DionLeFou@Cambridge_Uni Easy to confuse. Merton college and STC Merton College sound pretty similar. It’s almost deceptive to have named the later so similar to the former. How ironic that Arday went there.
@tzippele@DionLeFou@Cambridge_Uni They do mean a lecturer. If you google Sandro Sandrhi he’s a lecturer at Merton. That’s a further education institution. Arday’s degree was elsewhere—Surrey. His doctorate was years later in Liverpool. So ‘mentor’ is definitely being used in two different contexts in this case.
@LucyTCWife It is correct that this person is in court. It is correct that theirs is a lesser charge given that, unlike in your case, no arson was committed after the post.
So all is right with the world.
@Kilrathal@Fordy1EFC@BROKENBRITAIN0@Lord_Talbot64 I don’t believe the tax is on the value of the house but of the land. That’s stable, easily predicted, and means that home improvements won’t result in a higher tax.
@Meliden@PolitlcsUK I imagine you’ll have an abeyance on the tax if you’ve just paid stamp duty with the period of the abeyance on a sliding scale from when that duty was paid.

Hi I just inherited £50k which happened to be enough to clear my credit card debt and put a deposit on a house, something I have wanted to do for a decade.
But then I lost it on a 50/50 coin toss to turn it into £1m.
Never mind. At least now statisticians won't say I'm stupid.
@AndrewWoodman Your answer entirely depends on the value to you in the current moment of that guaranteed amount.
You can prove this by changing it in your head. £50m or 50% chance of £1B. Everyone takes the £50m.
£0.50 or 50% chance of £100, everyone goes for the 50% chance of £100.
