1. Saya tak pernah fikir yang saya akan hidup untuk menyaksi bagaimana pemimpin Malaysia sanggup serah kemerdekaan kita hanya untuk nampak hebat buat beberapa minit dan di usap kepala oleh pemimpin asing.

2. Tapi ini yang berlaku, dan kini kita terpaksa tunduk pada kehendak Amerika Syarikat dalam hampir semua urusan perdagangan dan ekonomi kita. Ternampak yang kita telah serah kedaulatan kita.

3. Pada tahun 1957 ketika berjuang untuk kemerdekaan, kita berusaha untuk tentukan nasib kita dan di tahun-tahun berikutnya, kita bekerja keras untuk menghapus segala bentuk pengaruh asing ke atas negara kita, terutama dalam perdagangan dan ekonomi.

4. Tentu rakyat Malaysia masih ingat Dawn Raid dan Buy British Last sebagai contoh keazaman kita pertahan kemerdekaan dan keengganan kita untuk ikut telunjuk kuasa asing kerana kita negara merdeka dan kita sangup mati untuk pertahankan kedaulatan kita.

5. Malangnya, dalam perdagangan timbal balik antara Amerika Syarikat dan Malaysia, kita telah korbankan kemerdekaan kita dengan membenarkan Amerika mengenakan kehendaknya ke atas kita.

6. Apa yang kita saksikan bukanlah satu perkongsian, jauh sekali timbal balik.

7. Ia penyerahan kebebasan ekonomi yang kita bina dan telah pertahankan dengan susah payah.

8. Kita setuju beli kapal terbang, gas dan mesin mereka, patuh pada peraturan digital mereka, benar mereka nikmati hasil mineral nadir bumi kita, buka pasaran kita ikut syarat mereka, dan patuh pada syarat mereka tentang dengan siapa kita boleh atau tidak boleh berniaga.

9. Semua ini hanya untuk secebis pelepasan tarif.

10. Benar ada 𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆, tapi dari awal lagi terdapat syarat yang jelas menjerut kemerdekaan Malaysia, kenapa mesti kita setuju perjanjian itu?

11. Dan walau ada 𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆, bolehkah kita percaya yang Amerika Syarikat akan mudah setuju untuk batal?

12. Jika kerajaan gunakan 𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 untuk lepaskan diri dari perjanjian berat sebelah, jelas bahawa kerajaan ini tidak tahu bagaimana untuk berunding dengan baik sejak awal lagi.

13. Inilah penjajahan baru (neo-kolonialisme) yang pemimpin-pemimpin serantau sebut sejak dari zaman awal kemerdekaan dulu.

14. Berhentilah guna istilah perdagangan dan kerjasama, atau berdiplomasi — akuilah yang anda telah perdagangkan kemerdekaan negara kita kerana anda tidak berani dan terlalu ingin senangkan hati kuasa asing.

15. Dan kuasa itu pula ialah pihak yang menyokong dan melakukan pembunuhan beramai-ramai terhadap rakyat Palestin.

Remember this: The pain is all in your head. If you want to evolve, you need to go where the problems and the pain are.
