Not taxing tips is a stupid policy.

Politicians on both sides are suggesting it to buy the vote of swing states that have high percentage of tip jobs.

A huge amount of people that work low income tip jobs don’t pay income taxes to begin with.

Why should someone working a low paying job delivering food get better tax treatment than someone working a low paying job delivering packages?

Why should the waiter get better tax treatment than the busser?

Politicians just make up policy to try and get elected without any actual thought behind the policy.
