This account is pro-students run by teachers
We are NOT pro-voucher
We also do NOT believe the public school superintendent/admin is a ceo worth 1/2 a million while a custodian is worth 8 an hour argument
Both are wrong & greedy
Charity is not sustainable for class supplies
This is an all time bad take from Vance because it is inconsistent and also demonstrates lack of business sense.
1) Inconsistent because there were no attendance requirements (ZERO) attached to any of the Voucher/ESA bills in the previous legislative session. Vouchers fund on enrollment only
2) Demonstrates lack of business sense because the school has to be open and ready to serve ALL enrolled students even if 10 percent are not attending that day due to being ill, on state approved religious holiday, college visit etc. The school must daily absorb 100% of expenses but might only receives 90 percent of revenue. You can hate on public schools but there is a reason to fund schools on enrollment not daily attendance.
3) Further it is inconsistent for libertarian positions, of which Vance is usually supportive, because all the burden of attendance is placed on the school (or government as Vance refers) and none on the parent or child
I don’t disagree with everything Vance says (love his daily bible verses, his overcoming personal tragedy, commitment to family, and how he is building his own business) but this was poor.
The New York City firefighters union is understandably upset that funding for the 9/11 healthcare program was stripped by the GOP from the spending bill.
Perhaps if they hadn't endorsed Donald Trump and help him win, this funding would have been saved.
Putin's plan to take on the dollar via a BRICS trading block may be stupid, but that doesn't mean they're not pursuing it. And for the edge case of avoiding Western sanctions, the scheme may find some traction, as I've been reporting the last 3 years.

If we don’t deal with the debt ceiling, ideally permanently, we risk a US default on debt which will also destroy the dollar. Musk is cheering for this — and this can happen regardless of who is president. Details here.

🚨 Forget Project 2025 for a minute. What folks should be most concerned about is Project Russia. This is the plan for the dismantling the United States, the dollar, and US hegemony, and we have entered the endgame.

Oil is down another 1% today
And yes, TRS is a major investor in oil
The main reason TRS has remained sustainable is the every teacher legally has to invest
The payroll, bonuses, and special interest investments make it a lousy investment that could be incredible
Abbott is great at waisting money for political shows
Also, why are our schools being bid out to the highest fraudulent foreign investing terrorists bidders?? @GregAbbott_TX
That's roughly $1,841 per person. By comparison, a bus ticket to New York costs about $215, while a flight costs about $350.
It would have WAY cheaper to just give migrants money for tickets. Abbott's effort not only made it a political stunt, it lined a contractor's pocket.
@joe_jo4 @JonesHospodTX Not sure why, but they are making poor investment choices with teachers retirement funds
And making shady choices with school vouchers by allowing foreign investors to use them as investment opportunities with citizenship attached

@DeAngelisCorey Are you getting payouts from foreign governments for all of this work? What measures does school choice take to make sure schools aren’t shell companies for terrorists?
Why is Texas funding charter schools which could be the main source of income for foreign terrorist groups like Gülenist Terror Group's ?
How much money are politicians like @GregAbbott_TX@DanPatrick@tedcruz receiving from BRICS countries?
@CoxHerb@TroyMooney@KellyRasti
@houston_tsta@TxEdHouston@HoustonISD can’t get funding and was taking over because Texas politicians would rather fund terrorists organizations lobbyists

Texas politicians pushing TRS retirement money into oil is cost teachers 49% on their investments
What special interest group is being paid off in return for teachers retirement benefits in Texas??
